You have given me back my Beth. I am now able to be the vampire she knew I was, to protect her like I protected her as a child.

You have granted a request as a brother, changing me back to what I was.

But most of all, thanks for letting me make the choice, not making the choice for me.

It was Mick's choice that does make it a precious gift.

This is beautiful, woll. I do love drabbles--every word is precious. Yes, the choice was the most wonderful gift of all, wasn't it? It was as if Josef repaved that tragic highway Mick had been trudging along, made it fresh and new, and Mick chose to take the journey again. What a freeing thing that is.

Thank everyone for being so kind to the writer-neophyte. As I told Red, some pesky mosquito tripped out as a muse bit me on this challenge. Now I understand all the writers who say that when it is in you, you just have to get it out. Hmmm....a very different perspective for me. Again, thank you to all who responded. (Note to self: Have to be more diligent in leaving responses when I read the fanfic...)

I didn't even realize up to now that this was your debut as a fanfic writer! Makes it all the more valuable that you took the challenge and gave us this lovely little insight into Mick's friendship with Josef. Wow!
