“You can run but you can’t hide…”

Who are you kidding, man? You spend most of your waking hours hiding – camouflaged, wearing a mask of cynicism – and I usually let you get away with it. It’s more comfortable that way. For both of us. I may be younger – and I can’t even begin to imagine what four hundred years does to a soul – but I do know the difference between hiding, running away, and being pulled by something stronger than yourself. Just know, no matter what I said, whatever way you’re heading – I’ve got your back.

Lilly, thank you so much for reposting this. I love the way Mick's goodness and friendship and smartness comes through in this. He doesn't need to spell it out for Josef, but he sure knows him in and out.
