Standard disclaimer. I don’t own Moonlight. No, really.
Better Late…?
Josef managed to contain himself until Mick left his office, the only sign of his agitation an intently tapping finger. Once the door had closed, he gave vent to his displeasure. “Twenty-two years,” he said, his voice rising in anger, almost echoing in the empty space, “twenty-two years of listening to his whining about killing her, and now he thinks to tell me that he never saw her ashes?” It had cost vast amounts of accumulated good will, to convince the Cleaners that Mick had not killed his sire, and that Coraline had simply chosen an opportune time to move on.
Then again, and he laughed softly as the thought struck him, it wasn’t as if he hadn’t known from the very beginning that Coraline had outraced the flames; after all, it was at Coraline’s behest that he’d taken Mick under his wing. He shook his head in amusement. She really was a remarkably forgiving woman.
