An Annual Tradition PG-13 Champ Challenge 154

Post by cassysj »

I do not own any recognizable characters no copyright infringement is intended.

“I think it will take place in France this year.”

“I don’t know Aqua, maybe Austria or Hungary.”

“Tangie, why do you think it will Europe? It could be Russia, China or India.

“Delancy……they didn’t have motorized traveling in the 17th century. I’m sure he’s European.

“They did have boats Tangie. You don’t know everything.

“Jade, I’m not arguing that…..I just think it’s going to be in Europe, whether it’s East or West is the mystery.

Let’s guess age, should we keep a range of twenty-four to thirty-two.

“I think twenty-two to thirty-three. People were older….younger back then. Okay, who wants to take bets on royalty, nobility or rags to riches story?

“He is definitely using the poorman version or Footman to Fangmaster angle.

“Delancy you are so bad! Don’t let him hear Fangmaster.

“Oh come on Tangie. It’s cute.

“I agree but he’ll either love it or hate it depending on how the wind blows. I know of someone who made a “master” joke once and was in an I Dream of Jeannie costume for three weeks. Three weeks straight, he never let her out of it.

“Never? You do exaggerate Tangie.

“Say that to me after you’ve been here a year Jade.

“Josef, what the hell are your freshies talking about?”

“I don’t know Mick. Why are you eavesdropping on them? That’s rude.”

“Josef, they are talking about your past. I thought that was forbidden.

“More likely on what the plot of my New Year’s story this year.

“New Year’s story?”

“Yes, Mick. A new year, is a new life. After the guests go home I tell the freshies a bedtime story about a vampire’s turning.”

“Your personal turning?”

“Mick, do you really think I was a Prince, Baron, Footman who died over an eleven year period?

“Of course not but….

“I tell them about a noble human who turned into a brave handsome vampire.

“Is there any truth to the story?”

“Many noble humans have become brave handsome vampires.

“Josef, I ask again. Is there any truth to your story?”

“Mick, you wound me.”

“I’m serious.”

“Mick, there are all kinds of truth and when you live a few centuries you’ve been rich, poor, important, insignificant, handsome and ugly depending on the fashion.

“So it is about you.”

“I’m sure a few sentences apply to circumstances I’ve been in occasionally. But you could never piece all the facts together to a particular….historical person.”

“Are you sure?”

“Damn sure. Many freshies have tried and failed.

“That was before the internet.”

“The internet is full of lies and half-truths.”

“A few truths as well. Last week I read that vampires go out in the sun.”

“Give me the URL.”

“Relax, Josef. It was a website for Twilight but……sparkle is different from flame.

“Mick, if I hear one more word about sparkling vampires I’ll…..

“You’ll what?”

“I’ll tell Beth you spent the day spying on freshies. You know how jealous she gets.

“You wouldn’t.”

“You don’t know me at all.”

That last part had me :coffee: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

I love this tradition! Kind of like a cross between "Once Upon a Time" and "This Is Your Life." :hearts: And I bet the freshies love it, too. They must try and try to figure out which are the grains of truth and which parts of the story are totally made up. I bet if freshies lived as long as vampires, somebody would be able to do it... :chin: Good thing for Josef they don't, huh?

Jade still has some learning to do, I see. :snicker: She'd better hope she doesn't end up doing hand laundry in an antique corset for a couple of weeks! :winky:

This certainly made me smile! :flowers: I couldn't help but think of the discussions we as fans have about Josef's mysterious past, and yet, he offers no definite answers.

Of course, in a way, that's half the fun, because then we can make up our own tales. :teeth:

Fantastic work!

Alle - I can imagine all the freshies gathered around and since many of them hear a new story every year they can't help but look for consistencies. Jade's lucky Josef doesn't eavesdrop on the freshies. Although he seemed to know everything they said.

Laughter - Thanks for reading and commenting. I'm glad it made you smile

It's a bit like Josef writing fanfiction about his own life.
He could compare notes with Lucky! :snicker:

Love that last part. :rolling:

He hears what they say, but he doesn't eavesdrop. There's a difference. (To Josef, anyway.) :winky:

Love Josef in this, Carol . He keeps everyone guessing, even Mick. Having his freshies find out the truth about his past would take all the fun out it. Josef wants to stay mysterious, it adds to his allure. But Jade does need to be careful...there's a difference between being curious and being nosy.
