This isn't directly related to Sophia's role in the show, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless - it's an article by the series creator, David Wolstencroft, about spy tactics, in light of the recently-uncovered (alleged) spy ring in the US:

That's a very interesting article. And it's comforting to know that American's don't have a corner on the market in nasty comments...

Season 9 details are starting to show up on IMDb (verrrrrrrry slowly):

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0160904/epcast#season-9

So we now know the full name of Sophia's character - Beth Bailey.

The BBC today issued a press release confirming the approximate air date and episode description for the first episode of series 9. Warning - this contains major spoilers:

They haven't released the full schedule, just confirmation that the show will air during the week of September 18th-24th. It will be cosmically weird if it's Monday 20th.

VERY cool! (And I agree that it would be cosmically weird if the new season debuts on September 20th.) :gasp:

I'm still freaked by her character's name being 'Beth', but I'd love to see Sophia in action as a 'Spook'. May her stint with the show be as long as she wishes and I hope she has some fun along the way. :hearts:

Here's an interview with Richard Armitage about the new series. Some of the info is the same as from the interview above, mixed in with a few new bits and pieces:

And (FINALLY) some pics:

The guy on the left is the section chief, Harry Pearce, played by Peter Firth:

And the lovely lady herself:

Still no confirmation on an air date yet.

Interesting spin on fending off the 'gratuitous torso shot' :giggle: It takes make-up to create his body art, and make-up to cover up existing body art on other actors.

I just finished watching the first season of MI-5 to prepare for Sophia's appearance. It was only six episodes long and is available from Netflix.

I must say I was very impressed. Very good action and tension! And what a cliff hanger! I think most of the actors from the first season are gone by her season but if they keep up the quality, I can see her fitting in very well.

I do have to have the volume louder than usual to make sure I understand the spoken British. Sorry, American ears.
