I'm really looking forward to this...even if Jason isn't on tonight, I figure it will pay to concentrate on these first few eps, so I'll know what's happening when he DOES show up.

Mmmmm... I think I'm intrigued. This Siobhan has so many skeletons in her closet. Knowing that Jason is coming is probably pushing me over the edge but I think I'll keeep watching.

I watched.

Um.

I thought SMG was great (and looked amazing, BTW) and the set-up was interesting. I thought the scenes with the twins onscreen together were really well done - which obviously used up all the budget 'cos they had nothing left for the boat scenes.

From then on, I struggled to suspend my disbelief with the plot twists - these were some heinously unlucky twins - and if it weren't for Jason's impending appearances I'd probably give it a miss. But, as I'm gonna keep watching, I hope they work on the pace and cut down on the credibility-stretching plotting.

I watched too. And I agree with every word you wrote, Red. There was just TOO much going on by the end of the show -- and not in an exciting, gripping, can't-wait-to-see-what-happens way.

I never watched Buffy (I know, :tomato: ) so I didn't really know what to expect from SMG. That initial draw wasn't there for me. As it turns out, I do like her and want to see more of her. But the fact is, this probably isn't a show I would've ever watched if it weren't for the fact that Jason is going to be on it.

I'm hoping it'll even out a bit before he gets there.

What y'all said. (Especially the boat scenes. OMG could the effects have looked any faker and cheesier???)

I'm not particularly liking several of the characters. Bridget seems sympathetic, and like someone who has made major mistakes, but is trying to overcome her past. Andrew seems all right. Siobhan, on the other hand...eek. And her boyfriend Henry just struck me as a slimeball.

Possibly, some or all of this will twist as the plot unfolds...

I will say that the ending scene caught me a little by surprise, even though it shouldn't have.

Juliet certainly seems like a handful...I am really wondering what potential it is that "Mr. Carpenter" will see in her. So far, she looks like someone with great potential to follow in her aunt's footsteps as a pole dancer.

I was out last night, so I missed it! :Mickangel: But Mr. Allegrita DVR'd it for me, so I will try to catch it tonight. I've got pretty low expectations (lower, now) :snicker: but I love SMG and I hope that they can pull the show into shape... :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

They did start off with Patsy Cline - which perhaps raised my expectations too high. It shows they've got soundtrack folks with excellent taste.

I was particularly bemused (soundtrack-wise) with the cover of "25 or 6 to 4." The original wouldn't have fit in that context, but the cover seemed somehow appropriate.

I think what that series needs, among other things, is Alfred Sole. It almost has his design flair, but not quite, and it's crying out for it.

So I watched it tonight, with Mr. Allegrita. And maybe it's because I had very low expectations, but it wasn't all that bad. It could grow on me. I agree that they threw everything against the wall to see what would stick, but I think there's enough there to keep me coming back. And, well, Jason's gonna be there, so that's even more motivation to stick around. :teeth: Plus, Mr. A. liked it. (And the fact that he finds SMG totally adorable was only most of the reason he liked it.)
