What do you mean about it being uncut? Are there parts we don't see in the dvd? :chin:

When they bring theatrical movies to American television, they often cut bits and pieces to a) make room for commercials, b) make sure it runs within a two hour time frame but still gets plenty of commercial breaks, and/or c) remove any scenes that might be overly sexual... they'll often keep all but the most violent bits in a film, but sexy scenes on tv sometimes get cut here.

So, unless you are watching on a pay channel, like HBO or Showtime, you may very well find your movie cut from its original theater version. Supposedly this isn't happening with BUP. :fingerscrossed:

Your DVD would have all the parts, no worries.

Let's just say I sensed your concern. :winky:
Also, I am sure our international fans have no idea how tv 'nets sometimes chop up movies to get their max commercial bucks ... ruining the movie at times.

Going off topic here but it is sort of related to the commercial business. What actually is interesting on the rare occasion there are sometimes (although rarely today) scenes added for a television version to make up for the cut sexual scenes. There was a teen exploitation movie in the 1980's called Angel and when it aired on television it had a completely different end scene that was not on the VHS or the recent dvd release. I was the right age group and I saw that movie frequently as a teenager I always wanted the version with that end scene because it was a sweet ending but I've never been able to get my hands on it. Also a lot of movies shot in the 80's shot a scene different ways for the television audience Trading Places and nude scenes with Jaimie Lee Curtins

OK! The USA network totally cut this movie to shreds for an afternoon showing! :grumble:

They skipped the birthing scene ENTIRELY! It went from him just about to tell her he failed the exam straight to them walking in the farmer's market after the birthing scene. IT MAKES NO SENSE.

Yes, I get that it's the afternoon and the birthing scene is a questionable scene for little eyes, but then you put on a different movie during this time period.

Rant over.
:soap:

ETA: Just as I posted, they also cut the scene where she's trying to dig the pillow out of the garbage and went straight to her nana coming in the next morning. Man!!!

That's too bad, actually. The birthing scene was one of the comedic high points of the movie.

Yep, chopped up. We went from him inviting her to the farm, to him opening the barn doors. No Mrs. Magoo hitting the tree and shirtless Stan on a tractor. :noway: Boo!

If you're going to cut half the movie, why show it? Just show an episode of NCIS.

And the first evening showing was uncut, but it looks like you shouldn't watch it any more.

Gezz sounds like the making of a BUP drinking game. :snicker:
Oh that seen is missing! "take a drink" and that one "take a drink" *HIC* Wait, was that scene missing too? :dizzy: Who cares "take a drink!" :drinking:
