No one gets what they really want here. They all settle for shadows and substitutes, both hurting and causing pain.
Sad.
Up until this chapter, I felt sorry for Cam. He was Mick, in another place and time but fulfilling the same role that Mick would do a century later, but even though Mick was no longer the innocent young man who went away to war, I don't think he would have acted so cruelly as Cam did here.
