I'm saving this one for when I get home, Red.

Vying for laptop time ( :type: :poke:  :snicker:) doesn't lend itself well to concentrated reading.

:giggle: Thanks, coco. I have visions of :slappy: across the keyboard. Don't spill any blood, 'k?

:giggle: No blood spilled here. It was just a friendly nudge for the laptop.

The wonderful Albra made a beautiful photocollage of this scene and has kindly allowed me to use it. Check out the first post!

Oh indeed he did (compared to ALL the other nights when he just looked like your average Greek God). And so beautifully put together by Albra. She's SO sweet to me!

This is truly beautiful, Red. I adore the way you write this man. :notworthy:

This is actually one of my favourite MickCora scenes. I love how quiet and serene the whole moment is between them. There is a calmness about them. They sit there possibly for the first time ever just being honest with each other and you can see everything between them in that one scene. The love that was there and the regret (especially from Mick I think) of what could never be between them and you have captured it all amazingly here.

You also highlight how perfect this moment is from Coraline. Her honesty and love for Mick shines through.

Absolutely exquisite, Red. :clapping:

Red :smooch: Grace.

coco, thank you. :flowers: I completely agree about this scene. Coraline's line, "That was a long time ago, Mick," is probably my favourite line of the whole series (for any character). In those few words she sums up acceptance that she was wrong and foolish and that she wants to make amends, in the only way she can. She could have run, but no - she came back for Mick. Yes she was taking a chance that there was still hope he'd run away with her, but beneath all of that, for the first time, is a realisation of the impact of her actions - and her resolve to make it right (as much as she can).

Sigh.

I love it.

Love. It.

While I said it in another thread, probably better to say it here.

Redwinter - I already said how much I liked this story. But your new banner - well I absolutely adore it. It reminds me so much of the early days of Moonlight when there was so much hope. The show was new and we all loved it. Thank you.

What DSR, Grace, Albra and everyone else said.

Stunningly lovely.

Moonlightsonata, thank you. The story, I'll take credit for; the banner is all down to the fabulous Andromeda03.

jen, thank you so much. :flowers: Exquisite is such a lovely word. :curtesy:

This also is my favorite Mick/Cora scene in the show. The fear when Lance takes her away in the end, she gave up her freedom for him. She loved Mick so much and I think you captured that beautifuly here.

Thank you, Carol. This is one scene I go back and watch over and over again. That final moment, with Mick lying on the ground, hurting, a tear in his eye, as Coraline accepts her fate - it still chokes me up every time.

Pardon my tardiness in feedbacking this one. I wanted some uninterrupted time to read and savor this, the way it deserves.

I've always had mixed feelings when it came to Coraline, but I think here Mick's finally coming to grips with her and what she did to him by Turning him, and what she's giving him now to make up.

I just love this:
But I feel honesty in her words, her touch, her need. Maybe that's what it all comes down to - she's run out of options and landed on the truth.
Sometimes the truth is so hard to face, one takes an infinite amount of journeys. But, sooner or later...that's where you end up.

And Mick's at peace finally, with himself, and with Coraline:
Of all the emotions we've shared, this is the one I craved but never felt until now - calm. I feel at ease. I feel like me, not a shadow reflected in her glare. Just me.
More than anything, more than everything, this is what she has given me. I can start to remember her without hate. Our love was true, we just weren't meant to be. Two souls that never quite fit, no matter how hard we tried. Now, here, after the pain, the anger, the hate, the love, the fear and the hope, it's just us. Fifty-five years and we can finally just be.
And how much Mick loves feeling human, despite the pain:
Sure I wish it didn't hurt so damn much but the feel of it is amazing. This body feels how it should. Damaged, imperfect, human, me.
All in all, just a lovely piece of Mick's acceptance, of his letting go of hatred and remorse, of forgiving the person who took his life from him.

Bravo, sweetie.
