Lucky,
Sorry it took so long to get here but last week was a zoo (quite literally)

I thoroughly enjoyed you story! I enjoy stories woven around settings outside of LA. Josef had to go, and I can only thing of what it would meant to the vamp community in New Orleans to have not one, but four of Josef's exclusives wandering about the back alleys of their hunting grounds. Michael DuBois is an old school vamp, and somehow I don't think new world attitudes regarding food set well with his sense of vampire supremacy.

I could just smell the city. Thank you for evoking that memory for me, what a lovely touch. I wonder about Josef's meeting with Michael, I would love to be a mouse in the corner for that one. You have to flesh this story out, why were they in New Orleans and.... another story begs to be written about Josef's prior trips to New Orleans with horses. ohhh... and another fresh bite. hmmmm. so many stories to write lady, so little time.

YAY! :yahoo: A new Freshie story! And since I'm going to NOLA in July - and MAYBE do the Vampire tour...this was VERY interesting to me.

And I loved that Josef held onto his composure & didn't give the Frat Boys anything to 'talk' about. And of COURSE Josef's girls stayed close to him!

Glad you liked it, Karen!

And I've got another one in the pipeline...you'll see it soon, I hope!

I've never been to New Orleans, but your story makes me feel as if. The frat boys were lucky that Josef had other plans. Maybe Michel's guys will make sure they don't harrass freshies any more. Can't wait to see what kind of scolding Josef will give the local vampires for being so sloppy. And the vamp guide might be in for some life altering experiences if he plays his cards just right.
Wonderful story.
the guide was persuasive enough that many of the party were starting to look a little convinced around the edges.
I liked this specific sentence. :snicker:

“Uh huh, right, Josef,” she replied. The freshies all snickered, and petted Josef. Not that he needed their reassurance that he was, in fact, the best bite ever...
:snicker: Oh, Lucky. That was priceless.

Great story ... and just what does Josef have in mind for Joseph? :gasp:

Well. Josef hasn't told me that yet. He's bad about that sometimes, but I expect Kostan Industries is always on the lookout for leadership talent.

:clapping: This was fabulous! I loved the idea of Josef going on a vampire tour. Oh, the things he does for his girls - sitting on a dirty bench, putting a sticker on his designer suit, walking around the city, putting up with the riffraff... :mdrama: :happysigh:

Lucky, you always do such an amazing job of establishing the settings of your stories. Thank you! :rose:

Oh, thanks, Marigold! I do try to think about what a scene really LOOKS like--and sounds like, and smells like--in writing my fic. We're all so used to seeing things on screen, that I feel like the more "cinematic" I can make things, the more interesting it will be.

And I have had so much fun writing ML stories set in places I've been...

Lucky!

Fabulous!!

The notion of a wannabe like the professor of darkness in NSTAV coming face to face with the genuine article was dealt with first and there was still a lot of territory there to be explored.

Looking forward to more.

Thank you!

Jenna

I wanted to give this a bump since I'll be going to New Orleans next year for the Barbie Con. Maybe I'll bring Tangie to that convention instead of Plum. That is if Josef Doll gives her permisison.

I really enjoyed rereading this, Lucky! I love how you incorporated your own experiences into the story. It adds so much in terms of details. :rose:

:thanks:

Oddly enough I was thinking of this story tonight. As I was putting my black sticker on I thought of Josef and Lucky.

Plum was a stowaway tonight since Tangie already got to go.

I took the vampire tour again last night.

We did run into one gentleman who declared he was a vampire. He didn't really get the reaction he was expecting...among other things, I told him he must need blood to heal up whatever injury had him walking with a crutch.

I had a lot of fun, although I was half dead myself by the end of the evening!

And I thought it would be fun to bump this story... :dracula:
