This video is kind of reminiscent of the original Moonlight pilot, or maybe even Mick Angel. Bruce Willis singing "Save the Last Dance for Me" from Sin City, with Jessica Alba undulating. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXM5_ihlHQI

Interesting video, alle...I can see how it recalls the tone and darkness of the original ML pilot...and just a bit of wistfulness on the part of the hero.

Love the xx song posted by red, will check out the album when I get a chance. The Kills track will grow on me I’m sure, but it reminded me of the power that ‘Kingdom’ by Dave Gahan had when it started up at the end of The Ringer.

This song was in The Vampire Diaries and Grey’s and is just so Moonlight imho, take a listen

In My Veins by Andrew Belle ft. Erin McCarley

Nothin’ goes as planned.
Everything will break.
People say goodbye.
In their own special way.
All that you rely on
And all that you can fake
Will leave you in the morning
But find you in the day

Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out.

Everything will change.
Nothin’ stays the same.
And nobody here's perfect.
Oh but everyone’s to blame
All that you rely on
And all that you can save
Will leave you in the morning
And find you in the day

Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out.

No I cannot get you out.
No I cannot get you.
No I cannot get you out.
No I cannot get you.

Everything is dark.
It's more than you can take.
But you catch a glimpse of sun light.
Shinin’, shinin’ down on your face.
Your face, oh your face.

Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found

Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out

No I cannot get you out.
No I cannot get you out.
Oh no I cannot get you.

In for the Kill by La Roux

We can fight our desires
But when we start making fires
We get ever so hot
Whether we like it or not
They say we can love who we trust
But what is love without lust?
Two hearts with accurate devotions
And what are feelings without emotions?

I'm going in for the kill
I'm doing it for a thrill
Oh I'm hoping you'll understand
And not let go of my hand
(x2)

I hang my hopes out on the line
Will they be ready for you in time
If you leave them out too long
They'll be withered by the sun
Full stops and exclamation marks
My words stumble before I start
How far can you send emotions?
Can this bridge cross the ocean?

I'm going in for the kill
I'm doing it for a thrill
Oh I'm hoping you'll understand
And not let go of my hand
(x2)

Let's go to war
To make peace
Let's be cold
To create heat
I hope in darkness
We can see
And you're not blinded by the light from me

I'm going in for the kill
I'm doing it for a thrill
Oh I'm hoping you'll understand
And not let go of my hand

Well, here goes a song that has absolutely wonderful lyrics in greek, but will certainly lose some or much of its magic in translation.

Guardian angel.

When you will be feeling lonely,
and when the house is empty,
you will have me as your companion,
and I will give you courage.

When the sky is black,
and when your lap is frozen,
when your voice turns to sob,I will be coming next to you.

Only you should be fine,
don't let me see one single tear in your eyes,
we may be apart now,
but once we shared the greatest love.
Be well , my girl,
and when you are looking for your man,
I will always be around,
your guardian angel.

If he breaks your heart,
and if he wants to leave you alone,
tell him that somebody had adored you once,
oh so dearly .

Only you should be fine......

I have loved this song for years and years now and the singer is one of my most favourites in greek music.

-Never?

Oh, what a beautiful, wistful song! I love his voice, and the guitar is lovely. Thank you for sharing this with us! What a VERY Moonlight-like song. :hearts: Poor Guardian Angel... Mick would totally understand him. :Mickangel:

This is a really cool thread I don't know how I missed it.

I had a song that kept making me think of the betrayal Mick must have felt about Coraline and her toying with his life and how it must have made him crazy mad. Now mind you I can be a bit of a heavy metal headbanger at times. This song "Deceiver" by Disturbed really had my mind in a whirl because it fit Mick and Cora so well... so much so I asked Shadow to make me a video...and she really did a bang up job.
(warning there are some explicit lyrics)

http://vimeo.com/15830005

Here are the lyrics. Notice they even have "vampire" in the lyrics.

You've been caught in a LIE!
You can't deny it

[Verse One]
So let the war begin
You're far from innocent
Hell I just don't know where
It will end
You are the one to blame
You made a habit of
*ucking up my life
Another fallacy
Is laid in front of me
Now I just don't know
What to believe
Another animal
Sent to devour what-
Ever's left inside

[Chorus]
[I KNOW NOW!]
It's all been a lie
And I'll never come to know why
Awoke to discover
You leaving me now
It's all been a lie
I don't ever want to know,
Why
You've mastered the art of
Deceiving me now

[Verse Two]
A mortal enemy
Has been revealed to me
How come I wasn't able to see?
Another vampire
Getting a fix from
Sucking up my life
An evil entity
Had taken hold of me
Ripped out my heart and
Started to feed
I still remember when
I thought that all you were
Eating was my pride

[Chorus]
[I KNOW NOW!]
It's all been a lie
And I'll never come to know why
Awoke to discover
You leaving me now
It's all been a lie
I don't ever want to know,
Why
You've mastered the art of
Deceiving me now

[Bridge]
This Idiot won't let me go
Slowly Penetrating the mind
I tell you now, my little puppet
You'll suffer me
You don't want to let me go
Untill I've taken over your life
I'll ensure you survive
Little puppet don't die
Let me, let me die
Little puppet don't die
Let me, let me die
Little toy don't die

[chorus]

I've seen the video, and it really is a grabber. This really is a perfect song for dark MickCora. I would HIGHLY recommend Shadow's video. It illustrates this song perfectly.

I was listening to Paul Simon's new album, "So Beautiful or So What," and this song just grabbed me by the heart and made me think of Mick... especially the second verse. :Mickangel:

Questions For The Angels

A pilgrim on a pilgrimage
Walked across the Brooklyn Bridge
His sneakers torn
In the hour when the homeless move their cardboard blankets
And the new day is born
Folded in his backpack pocket
The questions that he copied from his heart
Who am I in this lonely world?
And where will I make my bed tonight?
When twilight turns to dark

Questions for the angels
Who believes in angels?
Fools do
Fools and pilgrims all over the world

If you shop for love in a bargain store
And you don’t get what you bargained for
Can you get your money back?
If an empty train in a railroad station
Calls you to its destination
Can you choose another track?
Will I wake up from these violent dreams
With my hair as white as the morning moon?

Questions for the angels
Who believes in angels?
I do
Fools and pilgrims all over the world

Downtown Brooklyn
The pilgrim is passing a billboard
That catches his eye
It’s Jay-Z
He’s got a kid on each knee
He’s wearing clothes that he wants us to try

If every human on the planet and all the buildings on it
Should disappear
Would a zebra grazing in the African Savannah
Care enough to shed one zebra tear?
Questions for the angels

I know I'm TOTALLY out of touch with music these days, but one of my favorite songs on the ML soundtrack is "Savin' Me" by Nickelback. I heard another song by them yesterday, and it struck me as being in the ML vein as well. "If Everyone Cared"

I always love to see this thread pop up as I regularly hear songs that make me think of Mick. :blushing:

I've been listing to Bon Iver a lot recently and although there's no specific song that screams Moonlight, there's something about his mood and aesthetic that resonates. Beautiful. If you feel inclined, check out the album For Emma, Forever Ago. His new album's due out in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait.

I've also been enjoying a very Mick-like new song from Ben Howard, Three Tree Town: http://grooveshark.com/#/s/Three+Tree+Town/3Jw3Td?src=5

Goodbye Apathy

I can't sleep, no, not like I used to
I can't breathe in and out like I need to
It's breaking ice, now, to make any movement
What's your vice? You know that mine's the illusion
And all at once (as I'm trying)
I can help you out (just to get things right)
I'll be what you need (I kill myself to make)
I'll do anything (everything perfect for you)
Goodbye apathy
So long apathy

So don't sit still, don't you move away from here
So goodbye apathy (as I'm trying)
So long fancy free (just to get things right)
Goodbye apathy (I kill myself to make)
I don't wanna be... (everything perfect for you)
You...

I don't walk right, not like I used to
There's a jump in my step, as I rush to see you
I could be happy here, as long as you're near to me
As long as you're close to me
Now that I'm alright (as I'm trying)
I can help you out (just to get things right)
I'll be what you need (I kill myself to make)
I'll do anything (everything perfect for you)
Goodbye apathy
So goodbye apathy

So don't you stop pushing me, I can't take so much
So goodbye apathy (as I'm trying)
So long fancy free (just to get things right)
Goodbye apathy, (I kill myself to make everything)
I don't wanna be... (perfect for you)
You...

Everybody is watching you, everybody is watching me too.
Everybody is watching you, everybody is watching me too.
Everybody is watching you, (I can't breathe, no)
Everybody is watching me too. (not like I used to)
Everybody is watching you, (I can't breathe, yeah)
Everybody is watching me too. (not like I need to)
Everybody is watching you, (It's breaking ice, now)
Everybody is watching me too. (to make any movement)
Everybody is watching you, (what's your vice?)
Everybody is watching me too. (you know that mine's the illusion)
