Josef's watch

I think it's a Patek Phillippe, only with numbers instead of slashes.

I've heard that proposed before. :chin: There are definite similarities there. It may be a Patek Phillippe, but not that model. Josef's watch has Roman numerals and the winding/setting stem has the distinctive Cartier dome shape.

You caught my post before I pointed out the numbers.

It's a tough call, as it looks a great deal like a classic Cartier "tank" watch...although I think those are slightly more rectangular than square, as this one is. Patek Phillippe is certainly a high-quality enough brand watch for Josef to consider it suitable to his (impeccable) taste, without being gaudy.

Checked Cartier, and it does look a lot like this one:

It's very small for a man's watch. (The one in the pic is the ladies' version).

This isn't quite right either, but it's a vintage 1930 tank -- current value $10,000. This one has two lines of writing on the dial -- Josef's has only one -- but I think we're getting closer.

And it occurs to me, I should split this discussion off into a separate topic...

One other thought I had -- it's entirely possible that it was some sort of prop watch made to resemble a Cartier. Hollywood doesn't always use the real thing.

Mick's belt buckle in this pic was under discussion ( ) and I wondered if anyone has ever tracked down the brand.

Also we don't have much info here about Mick's clothes (apart from a couple of things in the OP). Anyone got any scoop?

The tag line for Patek Phillipe is essentially, "buy it today for the next generation"
An apt product for one who lives forever.

No, but apparently my eyes think that if I STARE at his belt buckle long enough, the answer will come to me. :phew: :giggle:

The only belt buckle that's even remotely close was this Edwardian antique, but it seems to be more for a female.

You know, Grace, if you could get him to undo the buckle it would be a simple matter of examining the back of the thing. (just sayin)

No info on Mick's buckle, but I do have some info on the jeans he wore in Fever and Love Lasts Forever. They were made by Blue Tattoo and had a distinctive, semi-circular flap on the pocket. Also note the circular stitching on the back pockets.

Blue Tattoo was a small company owned by a husband and wife. I think it's no longer in business, at least not under that name... but the company still has a MySpace page.

Here is a pair of Blue Tattoo jeans (same style, but much larger than Mick's) that was for sale on eBay.

Interesting that Mick would want unusual jeans... his sartorial choices were always interesting.
Nice stuff, but tres casual.
Whatcha suppose the wardrobe designer meant to convey by that?

Always ready for action? The anti James Bond wardrobe?? Trying to drive Josef crazy with his American Homeboy vibe??
