SFX's top 50 vampires
http://www.sfx.co.uk/2010/06/05/top-50-vampires/10/
At first I thought this was poll Catmoon posted about here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6491
Then I thought maybe it was an old poll, as I was sure I hadn't seen it before. But no - it's new. I only saw it because James Marsters posted it on his Facebook page (Spike made number one).
Mick was number 4 and Josef number 17. Which considering it's an "all-time" poll is pretty damn good (and I particularly liked the Cullen snark).

Re: SFX's top 50 vampires
I do recall this list from last year... cool to see it, "for the first time on the internet."
And I also appreciate the Cullen snark. How could one resist? I know I never can...
But I especially loved this line about Mick: It's like all the things that make vampires so sexy have been distilled into one character.
Oh so true.

Nice write-ups for both our vamps...and, "block voting"? MOONLIGHT fans?

Amen, grace. Couldn't have put it better.
Sadly, Sophia didn't make the list for her brief stint as the vampire Lucy in Dracula. I was glad to see two of my older favorites (Frank Langella and Louis Jordan) make the list.

Like block voting isn't what got Spike in first place...
Cos otherwise, Dracula would win a vamp poll, huh??

Very cool list! I thought it was funny how many times Dracula kept popping up.

There was block voting???
Hey, I didn't vote! Oh. (I live in the States. I guess this was a U.K. thing?)

It was online voting so country of origin wouldn't have been an issue (and pretty much no-one in the UK has heard of Moonlight...).jen wrote:There was block voting???

Re: SFX's top 50 vampires
How much do I love seeing Josef at number 17? (Rhetorical question.)
This especially was wonderful ...
The result was a louche, witty, energetic supporting character who often threatened to outshine the show’s star, Mick, whom he readily “re-turns” into a vampire at one point after Mick has a brief relapse into humanity. Shame the show was cancelled as a Josef spin-off series could have been great.
Considering he had less than 3 hours total screen time over the course of the series, that's quite an accomplishment.

Oh this is the excellent poll from the SFX special edition Vampire edition (I got my copy at last year's BBM).
I love having this issue in print with Mick at number 4.

Re: SFX's top 50 vampires
Thank you so much for the reminder, coco - I thought I was going mad. I knew this looked familiar - but I also knew I hadn't voted in anything recently. Now it all makes perfect sense.coco wrote:Oh this is the excellent poll from the SFX special edition Vampire edition (I got my copy at last year's BBM).

Re: SFX's top 50 vampires
This thread was a happy reminder for me too. I went in search of the mag and reading the poll and the excellent Moonlight episode guide with Alex comments again.
