ALLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dang, girl! What a charming evening!!!! And God bless you for sharing!!!
Tho Jeez! How cheapo WAS that show if they couldn't even afford Guillermo??? They did an amazing job with no cash... bless their hearts.
And I happen to really love Mick's grunt after he hits the tarmac during the car crash... so kudos to Trevor next time you see him.

Oh, Alle! How wonderful!!
Sitting next to the man who started it all, watching the very first episode?? It just doesn't get any better than that , woman! And I can't think of a better person to represent the dedicated, thoughtful -- enthusiastic, but decidedly non-"rabid" -- Moonlight fanbase. Thank you for sharing this with us.
(Now I'm off to update the location thread for episode 1. )

Wow! Alle, whenever you wake up, I'll bet you're still on a high!! What an incredible evening
Thank you so much for sharing it all with us - and next time you see Trevor - tell him we appreciate everything he did and tried to do.
Does he have any idea of the effect that one little show had on people? I hope so.

I know it's meaningless at this point (and I certainly don't want to open any old wounds), but I couldn't help myself -- I had to check out the overnights. And I'm just a little tickled that our show held its own and even garnered ever-so-slightly better numbers in terms of millions of viewers than CW's Vampire Diaries.

Re: Moonlight on The CW - Discussion for Ep 1: NSTAV
Thanks, Lilly. I'd been checking TVBTN, waiting for the overnights - so happy to see this. Those are more than respectable numbers. And it still gives me a thrill to think of all those hundreds of thousands of people sitting down in front of their TVs and watching Mick and the gang at the same moment.

Yes, it's a wonderful feeling -- and you just have to wonder how many of them might be experiencing it for the first time.

Probably, quite a few, if their initial draw is Vampire Diaries.Lilly wrote: Yes, it's a wonderful feeling -- and you just have to wonder how many of them might be experiencing it for the first time.

Re: Moonlight on The CW - Discussion for Ep 1: NSTAV
Oh, that's wonderful news about the numbers, Lilly! Thank you for sharing. And the NBA finals probably affected the numbers negatively... maybe next week will be better yet.
BTW, Trevor said that if Moonlight got better than a million viewers, it would be very good numbers for The CW.
A little more about last night...
I've been told that I acted like a total fangirl around Trevor. And it's true--I think that it was a bigger thrill for me to meet him than to meet the actors, in a lot of ways. It's like meeting Mick and Josef's "daddy" in a way. Such an amaaaazing experience.
One of the cool things I gleaned from talking with Trevor was a sense of the collaborative atmosphere in the writers' room, with people throwing out ideas and seeing which ones "stuck". Trevor said that he and Ron tended to write in a more somber vein and that since CBS wanted Moonlight lighter, they would "stick in" the lighter lines to lighten up the tone of the story.
Also, Trevor said that the "Interview" segment of Episode 1 was a last-minute add-in. (I think this was at the request of CBS, but I'm not positive on that.) The segment had been filmed just as a promo, but at the last minute they stuck it onto the beginning of the episode to give a lighter tone and to do an "information dump" of the vampire "rules." In the original pilot, Mick talked (in voiceover) about the "rules."
(Edited to fix a typo)

I'm glad they stuck the interview in the first episode - great background info in a novel delivery.
Also, what's wrong with being a fangirl? I'm just so happy that you had such a wonderful experience, alle

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, Alle! I'm so incredibly jealous you got to meet Trevor.
And to get to watch Moonlight with him?
As much as I love what we got, I wish we'd gotten to see Trevor's original vision of Moonlight. I love a good dark Mick, and would have loved to see that character a little darker and grittier.

I'm a little embarrassed to ask but was that Sophia's voice in the interview segment.
