I don't believe so, grace -- he's a local hometown (Fort Worth-area) boy.
Here's his bio from the website:
WRITER/DIRECTOR | Andrew Disney
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Andrew was introduced to the world of film at a very young age when his older brother, Jason Disney, showed him Raiders of the Lost Ark. Making home movies in his backyard, Andrew grew up aspiring to be a film director. By the age of eighteen, Andrew had exhibited a short film at the Los Angeles International Film Festival and studied abroad at the famous Cinecetta Studios in Rome, Italy. After high school, he went on to study film production at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. There he directed a slew of short movies and documentaries while collaborating on over 50 student projects.
At the end of 2007, Andrew completed his award-winning short film Frank’s Last Shot, which debuted at the Lone Star International Film Festival and has played in festivals across the country. In the last year he has won a Best in Show at the Fort Worth Addy’s, an Audience Award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, and a Platinum Award at Houston WorldFest. Now at the age of 24, Andrew is directing his first feature film.
If there was any way I could (a) pass for 28 and (b) justify flying to Ft. Worth for the day from Los Angeles... but alas... I can't. I'll have to live vicariously through Christy and Eris.

Speaking of viral. You know it would be kind of cool is they would post short clips or out takes once they've been shooting for awhile. Shooting probably isn't going to go on for a long time since this isn't big budget but a few snippets of Jason and cast would be kind of cool.
