I think he should just randomly pop up in all celebrity interviews.

Thanks, red, for the article
Bernero just sounds sooo laid back.....he seems to have a really good situation with the network, and despite a reduction in writing staff, still seems to churn out interesting stories.
He's also quite 'polite' in that he praised just about everyone he talked about, including Alex. There were no unkind words for Mandy Patankin, either.
Had to chuckle at the 'inner creepiness' comment - hmmm, Alex has played a psycho, several criminals, not to mention a vampire and he doesn't think he has any inner creepiness?

He's played TWO psychos.
In fact, I think he's played more bad guys than good guys...

Yeah, grace, I can't count I was thinking Michael, but Vincent is one as wellwpgrace wrote:He's played TWO psychos.

Good guys - Jack Flange, Eric Fraser, Marshall Connelly, Kevin Hyatt, Andy Yablonski
Bad guys -Michael Carter, Marcus Bohem, Russell Hayden
Sorta both - Will Bryant (he was a criminal), Mick St. John (well, he was bad, for a while)
I wish he would play more of them, alle. I would really like to see him play someone just totally depraved, yet without any psychosis to excuse it....allegrita wrote:He said in a recent interview that he likes to play bad guys...

Wait a minute...doesn't Jack Flange count in the "sorta both" category? Didn't he rob a bank?darkstarrising wrote:Yeah, grace, I can't count I was thinking Michael, but Vincent is one as wellwpgrace wrote:He's played TWO psychos.

Yeah, Lucky, you're right...notice that I forgot to list Vincent!!!
Let's try again, the corrections in red
Good guys - Eric Fraser, Marshall Connelly, Kevin Hyatt, Andy Yablonski
Bad guys -Michael Carter, Marcus Bohem, Russell Hayden, Vincent
Sorta both - Will Bryant (he was a criminal), Mick St. John (well, he was bad, for a while), Jack Flange,(a bank robber with his heart in the right place).
So his repertoire is pretty balanced...but if you add Stan and Steve McGarrett, the good guys pull ahead

Re: Alex on CM: "The Big Wheel" - links, reviews, discussion
I'm beginning to think Alex needs to play any kind of characters that are against his leading man type after H50. Certainly Vincent is a stab in that direction.
I remember earlier in Bruce WIllis' career maybe after Die Hard 1 and 2, he started playing smaller interesting characters in order to get variety. He was guarding against ending up just playing the same Die Hard character again and again. That really worked for him. (Would you have put "the Die Hard guy" in the Sixth Sense without the quirky things in between?)
Of course, we may not like it in the short term but it should give him longevity.

You forgot Luke Anderson in BlackJack:Sweet Science. He was definitely a baddie in that. And it could definitely be argued that Jack Flange and Will Bryant are not 'bad' men. At least they aren't murderers. So if you take that into account and call them merely 'sometime or onetime lawbreakers', then the good guys win out .darkstarrising wrote:Yeah, Lucky, you're right...notice that I forgot to list Vincent!!!

So, we can agree on those characters that are definitely villains -
Can you fill me in on Luke Anderson?
