Logan's Night Out Minor Character Challenge #111 PG-13

Post by cassysj »

I do not own any recognizable characters no copyright infringement is intended.

“Logan you never leave your basement.” Mick said.

Logan shook his head. Cool guys like Mick didn’t understand why someone stayed where it was safe.

1980

“Tim, I can’t believe this is the last time we’ll see The Empire Strikes Back.”

“We’ll see it again, just on TV.”

“Yeah, but it won’t be the same. We went to see it 27 times now we’ll be stuck with whenever they decide to air it on TV.”

“That’s true but we can‘t do anything. We went to the last showing.”

“Lando is still my favorite character in this movie.” Logan said.

“I’m not even talking to you Griff, Yoda is the best character.”

“Yoda’s cool but not like Lando. He’s got a way with the ladies.”

Tim laughed. “No matter how hard you try you’ll never be like Lando.”

“Maybe someday.” Logan said

“You’re starting a new job at Apple next week. Not exactly suave and sophisticated.”

“Tim, someday computers will be cool.”

“We wish.”

The two friends were walking to their car when they heard growling.

“What was that?” Logan asked.

“Sounds like a dog.”

“Maybe a rabid dog.”

Logan saw a blur out of the corner of his eye and then Tim was on the ground and this guy was…was… biting him.

He jumped on the guy’s back to try to help his friend but was thrown into a wall and then everything went black.

Logan started to wake up a few minutes later and he heard a very angry but quiet male voice.

“Michael what is wrong with you? I said you could practice stalking but you take people who won’t be missed. Bums, prostitutes, not two All American kids.”

“I was hungry Lennie.”

“Not acceptable. I’ve called The Cleaners to deal with this one. I’ll take the other guy’s wallet and the police will think he was mugged, anything he says will be considered foggy from the head injury.”

Lennie walked towards Logan and realized he was conscious.

“Open your eyes or I’ll tear your throat out.”

Logan was scared but he was also curious. “What are you Count Dracula or something?”

“Not exactly.”

The young vampire was still hungry. “Lennie let me drain him too. The Cleaners can deal with both of them.”

“I am not going to pay double when it’s not necessary.”

“No one will miss them. Michael growled. I listened to them talking. They’re just a couple of nerds that love Star Trek and computers. They don’t have lives.”

Lennie laughed cruelly. “Those kind of guys live in their parents basement.”

Logan was insulted. “Not anymore. Tim and I are getting our own place, next month.”

Lennie sighed and looked at him with the tiniest bit of regret. “No kid, you’re not but I like you. You’ve got guts but you never should have left the basement tonight.”

Present Day

Logan felt someone tap him on the shoulder and he vamped out.

“Logan, relax. Mick said. You spaced out for a minute. “

“Sorry, Mick. I got distracted.”

“With what?”

“Bad memories.”

Carol,

thanks for the peek into Logan's past. You're right, he should never have left the basement. :snicker:

Great insight into Logan. He surely was a Star Wars fan, he's a geek if I ever saw one. Trekkie probably too. And LOTR. And Transformers. Whatever had lots of technic or swords.
Poor Logan, though. Was the turning an accident or did she do it because he was a witness? Then she would have two fledglings at her hand. Maybe Mick took Logan under his wing because she wasn't up to it.

DSR - Thanks. Poor Logan should have stayed home.

francis - The turning was because he was a witness. If he had remained unconscious he would have remained human and his friend's body would have had a more explainable death. I don't think Michael the fledgling was going to last long, too sloppy so Lennie would have only had Logan to deal with but I think he would have been cut loose as soon as he was trained and Logan permanently settled himself in the basement.

Wow.

Logan is older than he looks.

Well, that was dumb.. They are all older than they look.

But Logan has every right to be a computer whiz. He has been into computers for a very long time.

Wonder backstory on one of the minor characters.

Fabulous!

Aw, poor Logan. He had every intention of leaving the basement, but it seems life threw him a curve ball. At least everyone knows where to find him when they need him. And there's always delivery...

Nice, Cassy.

I love Logan and it's sad to think about what might have been but he has his own niche.

This was wonderful, Carol. Poor Logan. I'm a Logan fan - it must be the geek in me :D so I enjoyed reading a little of his back story. :twothumbs:

Shamelessly bumping an old challenge. I loved writing this little look about how Logan became Logan

I'm glad you did bump it. This one makes me a little bit sad. Logan thought he had a big, bright world ahead of him, but thanks to Lennie's carelessness with his fledgling, all that promise was turned into a future of a very different kind. Logan is still a brilliant computer hacker, but it's in a very different context now.

I'm glad this didn't sour him on Lando, though. :teeth:
