Gabriel was working for the law firm of Danvers, Mitchell & Roy. It was a large law firm in the financial district of downtown Los Angeles.
Danvers boasted over 150 attorneys, all young, all gorgeous and all hungry.
The competition to bring in new business was stiff, with each new attorney working 80+ hours per week trying to shine brighter than all others.

Gabriel had brought in a plethora of new clients ranging from corporate whistle blowers to the high profile anti piracy. He was Danver’s golden boy.
He didn’t know how much of his ability was based on his legal prowess and how much was based on his powers as a vampire. Sometimes he thought he could spot the differences, but in the end he had given up, realizing that he would never know the full scope of his vampire ability.

Zoe was close to graduating from UCLA. She had taken a keen interest in vampire folklore and history so she pursued a Library Science degree.
She studied along side Julian Corsovo who was the chief archivist before his skills were needed to replace The Specialist. So it was Zoe’s hope that she could take that vacant spot.

But now it was late and he had promised that he and Zoe would meet Brian and Nicole for drinks, so he put his files away and logged off his computer and left to join his friends.

He drove quickly to Club Mayan and saw that they had already secured a table and were waiting for him to arrive.
“Hi!” he said leaning over to give his wife a kiss “Sorry I’m late” Gabriel said.
“It’s about time!” Zoe said returning his kiss as he took a chair next to her.
“What did I miss?” Gabriel said as he ordered a drink from the waitress
“You missed the snake dancer, but the fire swallowers are on next” Nicole said
“How are things with you Brian?” Gabriel asked his best friend.
Brian Petzer his friend since junior high had been a vampire for over 3 years now. Because of this Dragos bloodline his moods were more self contained, almost morose. His hair had gotten darker and he rarely smiled.
“I’ve been well Gabe.” He said calmly “I saw Ted Ferguson today” he said turning his head away from the stage to look directly at Zoe and Gabriel.
Zoe’s mouth opened wide.
“You’re kidding!” she exclaimed loudly.
‘Why would I be kidding about something like that?” he asked
“Jeez Brian! Do you have to be so literal!” she sighed.
“In any case, he came to interview for a position at Kostan Industries” he continued.

Gabriel frowned a little. He remembered Ted Ferguson as a petty little punk who pushed him into on-coming traffic.

“He actually made it to Princeton if you can believe that. Majored in Business” Brian said.
“Is Uncle Josef actually considering him?” Gabriel asked.
“With Josef you never know. Would you like me to tell him not to?”
Gabriel thought about it. He didn’t want to be too judgmental. That incident was a long time ago after all. And people did change.
“Of course not. If Ted’s qualified then by all means he should be hired” Gabriel said diplomatically. Brian nodded his head indifferently and focused his full attention on the fire swallowers who had just taken the stage.

It was a rare stroke of luck that Ted had run into Amy Perkins in a small coffee shop near Melrose. And Amy was as chatty as ever. She gushed about Gabriel St. John graduating from Stanford and marrying Zoe Reynolds. And how Brian Petzer had grown up so handsome and was a trader for Kostan Industries. In fact he didn’t have ask her any questions at all. In the time it took him to finish a tall iced mocha, Amy had given him more information than he would have accumulated if had hired a private investigator!

Nicole had enjoyed the evening out. Her and Brian didn’t have much time to socialize as they once had. Work at Kostan Industries was grueling and time consuming. Often times they would just pass out after coming home.

“It was nice to see Gabe and Zoe” she said sitting on the bed taking her shoes off and feeling the plush carpet between her toes.
“I apologize for that. I know that we do not spend much time out” he said taking off his tie and unbuttoning his shirt.
“We both work long hours, there’s nothing to apologize for. That’s just the way things are” she said matter of factly. Brian studied her and he knew could sense that she becoming bored with their routine. And he had the startling revelation that she might leave him. Isabelle had said he would have many lovers, but he had only been drawn toward Nicole. Perhaps it was because she had been his first and only lover. What ever the reason he knew that he was not ready to let her go. After taking off all of his clothing he walked over and stood in front of her.
“Why don’t you and I go to Paris next month? We are due for a vacation” he said leaning her back on the bed and kissing her deeply. Nicole was always fascinated by the vampire lovemaking skill. It was like nothing she had ever experienced.
“Brian! Do you mean it?” she asked trying to catch her breath.
“Yes.” He said as his hand came up to cup her breast. “I’d love nothing more than to take you to Paris” he lowered his mouth to her breast and kissed her until she squealed out.
“Tell me you love me” Brian said to her.
“I love you” she gasped as he took claim of her.

Ted Ferguson had been called into Kostan Industries for an interview.
He sat in a chair and waited nervously with five other candidates who were also nervous. When he heard his name called he stood and walked towards the assistant.
“Good morning Mr. Ferguson. Please come this way.” She said leading him into an office with an amazing view. “Mr. Petzer will be right with you” she said and turned to walk away.
“I’m sorry. I thought I was meeting with Mr. Kostan” Ted asked nervously
“Oh, I’m sorry but Mr. Kostan never interviews at this level. Mr. Petzer is his CFO. He will be handling your interview.” She said walking out and closing the door. There was something about the name Petzer that concerned him then it him! Of course! Brian Petzer! The fat kid with glasses that St. John had taken under his wing. After making the connection, the door opened and a tall dark haired confident looking man came towards him.
“Hello, I’m Brian Petzer.” He said in a deep voice.
“Hello Mr. Petzer. I’m Ted Ferguson…..y you probably wont believe this but….” Ted began.
“We went to junior high together. Yes, I know.” Brian said as he took a seat behind his desk. Ted looked intently at Brian, amazed at how much he had changed

“You certainly look different.” Ted said.
“As do you” Brian said although in his opinion Ted looked exactly the same. Like a very thin fair haired weasel. “So, you are applying for the position of Corporate Liaison in our Foreign Affairs Department. This position deals with our clients in France, so I assume you speak the language fluently.” Brian asked.
“Yes. And I also speak Walloon as well.” Ted said.
“That’s quite an accomplishment. Not many people speak that language outside of Belgium.”
“That was sort of an accident. I lived in Paris during college while working as an intern for Pfizer and it turned out that the housing where I was placed was run by Belgians. I the hardest time communicating them. So I thought it might come in handy to know”
“Why do you want to work for Kostan Industries? This is very much outside of the industry where you started?”
“True. Pharmaceuticals are very different from securities and mergers and acquisitions, but I believe that the business principals are the same”

After and hour of interview questions from Brian, Ted was taken for an interview with Isabelle as was mandatory. Josef liked for Isabelle to feel a potential employee out and whatever she said was law.

The woman who stood in front of Ted was quite possibly the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. And she was tall. Much taller than his own 5’7”. When she stared at him it was as if she was digging deep into his soul trying to figure out what made him tick. It was very unnerving.
“So what really brings you here?” she asked bluntly. Ted wasn’t sure how he should answer that question for he was sure that she would know he was lying. He opted for telling the truth.
“Well, to be honest I really had no idea of applying here until I ran into an old schoolmate who told me that both Brian Petzer and Gabriel St. John were associated with Kostan Industries.” He said.
“Why would that make a difference to you?” Isabelle pressed.
“Well…..I had hoped that the association might help me with my job perspective” he lied. Isabelle watched him closely before she made up her minds.
“Thank you for coming Mr. Ferguson. We will let you know what we decide” she said and turned around to face the window while he gathered his things and left. Isabelle sat meditating.
“I know that Ted Ferguson is a liar” she said in a small whisper.

“So tell me about this Ted Ferguson” Josef asked both Brian and Isabelle
Brian spoke first.
“I do not trust him. I think under any other circumstance he would be ideal, but it is apparent, he does not want to be here” Isabelle nodded in agreement.
“I agree with Brian. He has an ulterior motive for being here. A secret that he will not share. However, it is always wise to keep your enemies close.” Isabelle said.
“That much easier to crush when they’re near by” Josef joked. “Ok. We’ll give him a shot. But I want security doubled on him at all times. And no access to any of the high security areas. Put him on the 9th floor with Roberto.” Josef ordered.

Ted was elated when he received the call from Human Resources telling him he had the job. Now he could begin planning.

Sometimes getting what you think you want is not a good thing.

Ted is so in over his head. He just doesn't know it yet.

“I think you made a big mistake Gabe” Zoe said as she pulled a sweater over her head.
“How so?” Gabriel asked.
“I think you should have allowed Brian to advise not hiring Ted Ferguson”
“Zoe that was a long time ago. We don’t know, Ted may be a completely different person”
“And he might be worse. I’m telling you Gabe, that guy was always creepy. I remember him from 3rd grade. He dumped an entire bowl of glue over Mike Murphy’s head. They had to have his head shaved!”
“Honey you’re talking about something he did when he was what, 9 years old!”
“And it didn’t take him long to jump to attempted murder?”
“He couldn’t kill me, remember?”
“Gabriel, Ted didn’t know that!”
“Look, it’s not an issue because Brian won’t hire him. Brian absolutely loathes Ted Ferguson” Gabriel said straightening his tie.
Gabriel was right. Brian really hated Ted for pushing Gabriel into the street. He always said that if he ever saw that creep again he would knock all of his teeth out. And now that Brian was…….improved, that could very well happen.
Ted wasn’t sure what exactly he planned on doing. He had thought long and hard about that fateful day in school. Gabriel St. John had done something to him. He didn’t know what, but it terrified him for months after. His dad fearing that his son was having a mental breakdown sent him to a shrink. It was there while waiting in the lobby that he met someone who would open up his eyes more than any shrink could. This man told him that vampires not only existed but actually lived amongst humans. The man told him of the things he saw, of the things these creatures could do. That’s when Ted knew. Gabriel was one of those creatures. That explained so much! Like him appearing out of no where to attend his school. His physical ability. No one played basket ball that well. Not even Michael Jordan. And he had read an article about him on the Harvard-Westlake Prep swim team. The article said that he was able to hold his breath for an unbelievably long time. And lastly there was how he was able to mesmerize everyone. Only a supernatural creature could accomplish all of those things with such ease. And now it was up to Ted to destroy him. He had spent over a year studying everything he could on vampire myth and legends. When he was in Paris he would take weekend rail trips to places where they still believed. Like Austria and the Czech Republic. He talked to Professors who still very much believed in those creatures. But most of all what he learned was how to kill them.

Brian passed Ted in the hallway but didn’t acknowledge him. Roberto followed Brian with his eyes.
“Now there’s one guy I just don’t trust” he said.
“Brian? Why not?” Ted asked becoming curious
“I don’t know really. I mean he’s brilliant enough, but there’s something so cold and detached about him.” Roberto tried to explain.
“I went to junior high with him”
“Really? What was he like?”
“Well he was the kid that everyone always picked on. Fat, big glasses, thrift store clothes. His parents were alcoholics and lived in one of those government housing type deals”
“Wow! I never would have thought that! I had him pegged for old money. Wait a minute! He went to prep school! How’d he swing that?
“Some scholarship program. The city would offer it to poor kids if they were really smart. He had it rough. Some of those jocks would just beat on him unmercifully. That is until Gabriel St. John came to his rescue”
“You went to school with Gabe too! Now that guy I like!” Roberto gushed.
“You and everyone else in the world” Ted said grimly.

Gabriel thought about what Zoe said. Maybe she was right. What Ted did if done to a normal kid would have meant him being locked away until he was 21! He wasn’t going to worry about it. Somehow he just couldn’t see Ted of all people being smart enough to be hired at Kostan Industries.

There are two ways to learn: (1) the easy way; and (2) the hard way. I really hope that Ted has learned a better way to relate to people over the years and I think that is entirely possible. I can't imagine that behavior such as he indulged in in earlier years would not have been tolerated in the business world.

I remember the girl who tried to break Zoe and Gabe up when they were in high school. They would be perfect together, if he has learned nothing. They are cut from the same bolt of cloth.

That is not very nice.

The best solution would be if Ted can really want to be a friend and ally. Josef is not above employing the talents of an underhanded sleeze, but you can't trust someone like that...except you can trust them to put their own interests ahead of everyone elses.

Zoe loved her time with Julian. She learned more from him than she was learning at UCLA. He told her about being a vampire in the year 1485! He told her of the Counsel in Vienna. He told her of the different blood lines and how easily they could be tracked. Zoe soaked up all the information like a sponge and was still thirsty for more.
“So how many bloodlines are there?” she asked finally
“No one knows for sure. But I have tracked a dozen different vampiric lines dating back as far as Adam and Eve”
Zoe looked up in shock. Vampires had been around in biblical times!
“So what bloodline are you?”
“I am an ancient. I was made by Balthazar when I was 20 and 5.”
“How old are you?”
“602 years” He said.
“Holy cow!” Zoe said.
“What about Gabriel and his family?”
“They too have the bloodline of the Ancients but Lance and Coraline mixed their blood with that of the Throsh bloodline. They are insatiable in their lusts and fall in love often time unnecessarily”
“And Isabelle and Brian are Nosferatu?”
“That is correct, but Brian is an interesting case. The Nosferatu are all women. Brian is the only man introduced into this bloodline.”
“What about this Dragos? I thought he was a man”.
“Dragos is neither man nor woman. Dragos simply is”

Zoe was in awe. This was stuff she would never learn in school!

What an intriguing vampire society you have designed here.

Zoe is going to be a vampire historian, you can see the seeds of her interest forming and I bet it will blossom into a full blown passion.

Brian was in the human resources office reading Ted’s employment file.
He laid his hand on the file and closed his eyes. He could see Ted carefully typing it out. He could feel his heart rate and his nervousness. Brian knew that Ted’s resume was a lie. He made a quick photo copy of it and placed the original back into the file and left the office.

Brian told Isabelle of his concerns.
“It is by belief that the man has lied overall about his qualifications” he said
“I understand. But Josef will want to know why” She replied.
“I intend to find out. I will be out of town for a few days, would you convey this information to Josef?”
“As you wish” Isabelle said and walked out of his office.
Brian would travel first to Princeton. The Ted Ferguson he remembered was a C-student at best so unless he got a brain implant he failed to see how he got into Princeton.

Brian had forgotten that the East Coast got snow. He’d have to purchase a coat or he would definitely stand out. The temperature had to be 15 degrees or so. As Brian walked though the airport he saw a men’s clothing shop that sold items for a ridiculous sum, but he walked out with a black wool coat nonetheless.

“Mr. Petzer, it is very nice to make your acquaintance. Please have a seat. How may I help you?” The Dean of student services said to him.
“I am inquiring into the school transcripts for a former graduate who now works for Kostan Industries.” Brian explained.
“Of course. Not a problem. We here at Princeton are quite happy to have one of our former students working for such a prestigious corporation. I thought you were all Harvard men over there” he chuckled.
“It does appear to be that way at times I agree. Mr. Kostan was a Harvard graduate” Brian said sliding a sheet of paper in front of him with Ted’s name, social security and graduation date. The Dean began to type the information into his computer. He frowned then typed some more.
“I am very sorry Mr. Petzer, it appears that we have no one under that name who attended this school” He said sadly.
“I see. “ Brian said quietly as he stood up.
“But let me say, I am truly sorry that this has happened to you. And I hope that this doesn’t spoil your impression of Princeton” the Dean stammered.
“Of course not Dean. The fault is entirely ours for not being more thorough in our search. Have your Finance Head ring me next week about an internship program for some of your students” Brian said handing him his business card.

Thank you Mr. Petzer. Thank you very much” The Dean said showing him out.

If Ted has indeed talked himself into a position he is not qualified for, that alone is proof that he is not the sharpest knift in the drawer...brightest bulb on the line...etc., etc.

Add to that the fact that we are talking about Kostan Industries here. The penalties for this kind of thing have a reputation for involving occupying La Brea.

Can't help it, my mind goes back to when Gabe put the 'mind whammy' on the girl who was so intent in breaking up his romance with Zoe...

Roberto was becoming worried about the new guy. Whenever he posed a simple finance or business related question to him he appeared to have no idea what he talking about. Often times he replied with a “Let me get back to you on that” and then walk away. He wondered why he was there. Could he possibly be a corporate spy of some kind? Even though it made him uncomfortable, he decided that he would share his concerns with Brian Petzer. But after he went looking for Brian, he was told that he was out of town all week. Roberto would wait.

Brian’s next stop was Pfizer was the largest pharmaceutical corporation in the world. Their corporate headquarters was located in New York City. He called ahead of time to arrange a meeting with their Human Resource Director for that afternoon. Brian had a feeling that he would get the same answer that he had gotten from Princeton. That they had never heard of Ted Ferguson.

Ellen Cartwright was the Human Resource Director at Pfizer’s home office.
She was a beautiful woman of 37 years old and definitely not showing her age. She was dressed in a very form fitting camel colored suit that showed off her very generous curves. When she saw Brian she instantly put on her most seductive smile.
“Mr. Petzer I presume?” she said sashaying towards him.
“Hello.” Brian said trying not to notice the overt sexiness of the woman in front of him.
“I understand you want to find out about a former employee?”
“Yes.” Brian replied.
“Let’s go to my office” She said lightly taking his arm and leading him down the hall. Her office was a large corner office with a breathtaking view of Manhattan. Brian took the seat she offered and waited.
“Ok, Mr. Petzer what is the employee’s name?”
“Ted Ferguson. He was an intern here during the years of 2008-2010”
She checked her files quickly.
“Yes, we do have a Theodore Ferguson, who was employed here during that time, but he wasn’t an intern”
“What was his position?” Brian asked
“He was the Head of our Marketing department. He retired just this year.”
“Retired? How old was he?”
“According to my records 66 years old. Something tells me that isn’t the Ted Ferguson you were looking for” She said.
“No. But I’m not surprised. I’m more surprised by the fact that people think potential employers won’t check things like this. But I thank you for your patience and time” He said standing up.
Ellen looked up at the devastatingly handsome young man. There was just something so intoxicating about him.
“Listen, Mr. Petzer. If you’re not in a hurry to get back to Los Angeles, let me show you around the city maybe take you out to dinner. Who knows, Kostan Industries could do well with an East Coast branch” she said smiling at him. Brian knew what she really wanted and he wanted it too. Wanted her like he had wanted Nicole in the beginning.
“You will have many lovers” he heard Isabelle’s voice say in his head.
Then he thought of Nicole. Nicole who had loved a boy of 16 against all odds. Who was there for him in every decision, and every action. The woman who helped him reign in the power of his bloodline so he wouldn’t be an unemotional automaton. He looked at Ellen, so willing to have him right there in her office.
“I’m sorry Miss Cartwright. I’m afraid I really must get back to Los Angeles” he said and hurried out of her office.
“Damn!” Ellen murmured to herself. “Most likely gay. Just my luck”

Brian had one more stop to make before he left New York City.
He had to speak with a contact in Bureau of Consular Affairs. He needed to know if Ted was ever in Paris.

Ted had faked an illness so he could be excused. He had many things to line up. Like getting Gabriel St. John’s address. He was a little scared. He had never killed a vampire before. He knew how it was done of course…….but the only thing Ted had in his favor was the fact that Gabriel didn’t know that he knew. And that's when he would strike. He thought to himself staring at the stakes that he had made.

Gabriel was arguing his first case in court. His parent were there as were Isabelle, Julian and Zoe. He looked around for Brian but knew that he wasn’t coming. He straightened his shoulders and took his place in front of the jury. At first he was nervous, but then he saw how the females on the jury were responding to him. And even though it was an unfair advantage to have for sure, he became more confident in his tone and mannerisms and by the end of his closing, he knew then and there that he had already won the case.

Ted was in the very back of courtroom watching Gabriel intently. He looked at the faces of everyone in the jury. When Gabriel spoke to them, they seemed to be……smitten or mesmerized by everything he said and did. But when the other counsel addressed them, they appeared to snap out of it immediately. Who knows what vampires could be capable of if they got into positions of power. He was already an attorney, what if he got into politics? Or heaven forbid, The White House. Ted knew that it was his mission to destroy Gabriel St. John. At all costs!

Brian met Josef’s old friend Deacon Caulfield. He was a vampire of maybe 100 years and he worked for The Bureau of Consular Affairs.
“What has the boy done?” Deacon asked
“Nothing that we know of. But he has lied a great deal to get into Kostan Industries which of course give Josef as well as other vampires many concerns.” Deacon nodded his head and knew that if Josef had concerns then they were concerns for all of their kind. He started to go through the passport files.
“Here’s your guy” He said after about 15 minutes. “Ted Ferguson of Los Angeles California, applied for a passport in 2008, traveled to Paris and applied for a work visa. He stayed there for approximately a year which is the standard for work visas. Came back to the U.S. early 2010.” Deacon said looking at the information on his screen.
“Nothing else?”
“Well, there is some unusual activity. He made repeated trips to Austria and Czech Republic via the rail line. He used his passport as identification at The University of South Bohemia Library in the city of Cesk”
“I wonder what he was doing over there.” Brian said more to himself than to Deacon.
“Well for all our sake I hope he wasn’t speaking with Dr Luke Kennard”
“Who is that?”
“Well, he’s sort of famous in our circles. He teaches Ancient Studies and Folklore. And since it is the Czech Republic, vampires are a focal point of study” And that meant that Ted knew vampires existed and that Gabriel was a vampire.
“Damn it!” he screamed. “He’s going after Gabriel!” he said and took off.

Gabriel had already spotted Ted Ferguson in the courtroom. He let his feelings wash over Isabelle who immediately looked in Ted’s direction. Ted wasn’t paying attention to anyone but Gabriel. When the court was adjourned for the day, Ted slowly stood up and walked towards Gabriel.
Zoe saw him and got up quickly to stand by her husband. She did nothing the first time Ted attacked Gabriel, and she would be dammed if she stood by and let him try for another attack!
“Gabriel! Gabriel St. John” Ted said holding out his hand. “Hello. I’m sure you won’t remember me, but my name is Ted Ferguson and I owe you a huge apology” Ted said in seriousness. Gabriel looked at the man for a moment.
“Yes Ted, I do remember you”
“Gabriel, there’s no easy way to say this, but I am so sorry for what I did. Not a day has gone by when I don’t think about the danger I put you in. I’m not proud of what I did. It was pretty much attempted murder although I never meant for you to die…..I’m just so sorry!” he said with his head down.
“When I ran into Amy Perkins and she told me that you were working for Danvers……well, I had to find you so I could tell that”
Gabriel didn’t answer right away but he truly felt sorry for Ted. He briefly glanced at Zoe who he could tell would never forgive Ted for what he had done.
“Listen, we were children. Let’s just be thankful that no one was hurt” Gabriel found himself saying. Mick and Beth came over to congratulate him.
“Gabe honey, you were…so…..amazing!” Beth gushed as she hugged her son. Mick came over and shook his son’s hand.
“Well done!” he said with a wide smile.
“Mom, dad, this is Ted Ferguson.” Mick turned to look at the man sharply. He remembered that name and what he had done.
“What is he doing here?” Mick said with anger.
“Dad, calm down. He came to apologize” Gabriel said.
“Apologize? For pushing a child into traffic? Can someone really apologize for that? Mick said looking intently at Ted.
“Mr. St. John, what I did is reprehensible. I know that. And I know that saying I’m sorry doesn’t change anything, but I have to live with this shame and guilt for the rest of my life” he said almost believing what he said.
Gabriel reached out and touched his shoulder.
“Apology accepted Ted. Thank you” Gabriel said.
Isabelle stole up behind everyone.
“You were excellent today little one. I am very proud of you” she said.
“Thank you Isabelle” Gabriel said glad as always that she was pleased with him. Isabelle looked at Ted.
“Why are you not working?” she asked bluntly.
“I was not feeling well so Roberto told me to stay home and get better. I was feeling better and I read in the paper about the trial and I wanted to speak with Gabriel. We went to junior high together,” Ted explained.
Isabelle said nothing but Gabriel knew she was trying to get inside Ted’s mind. For some reason she could not get into Ted’s mind. He was using a technique of mind blocking that had not been used in hundreds of years! Where would he learn that?
“Listen Ted, would you like to Join Zoe and me for dinner?” Gabriel asked.
“You don’t have to…” Ted was starting to say.
“Yes. I insist. Let’s catch up” Gabriel said
“Okay. Thanks Gabriel” Ted said with a smile.

Brian sat in the first class cabin deep in thought. The stewardess walked towards him.
“Sir would you like anything to drink?” she asked. Brian looked up at the woman and shook his head. Brian had not been a huge fan of drinking ever since he experienced his first hangover.
“No thank you” he said quietly. Only one more hour and he would be back in Los Angeles.

Mick looked at his son.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Mick asked quietly.
“Dad, this all history. He seems to be very sorry for what he did. We all make mistakes at least I can give him a chance to make amends” Gabriel said. Mick sighed. His son was good. And honest. And didn’t have an evil bone in his body.
Alright Gabe. But be careful” Mick said as he and Beth walked away.
Isabelle still stood where she was.
“Isabelle. I’ll be fine.” Gabriel said to her at last. Isabelle looked one last time at Ted and swiftly walked away but not before whispering a non audible message in Zoe’s ear.
“if there is any trouble, I want you to break him in half!”

“I don’t think she likes me” Ted said feeling uncomfortable.
“Ted. Isabelle doesn’t like anyone!” Gabriel joked. “Come on let’s grab a drink!” he said with smile.

Gabriel better be careful. He's naive for a vampire.
