I'm tearing up reading this. I'm so glad that Mick has come to the place he is. He's proud of his life and he knows his dad would approve. Very sweet story.

:clapping: Jen, that was absolutely beautiful, by the years Mick came closer to his true -even if not self chosen- identity...step by step he made amends with his past and the father-son bond was always strong no matter what...He finds peace, he finds the woman who completes him and proudly presents her to his father...who would definitely approve this time...so'' everyday''..just like the vamp next door story.. :clapping:

*smiles* Thanks Maggatha! I think he is proud of his life- he has worked hard to do right, and he knows that his Dad would have wanted that. And yeah, it IS the vamp next door story, LOL! Glad you enjoyed!!

you feel the pain every day....it's the landmark days it gets accentuated and you mark that pain. Great portrait you painted here......he found it all in the end. He really did. (and you gave it to him)

What a great Father's Day story! I missed it the first time around, so I'm thrilled it came back up to Active Topics so that I could catch it this time.. So many themes of fatherhood here: the loss of a child and Mick's torment at being unable to tell his parents he was alive; the loss of his dad too soon; the terrible choice Mick made to save Beth from becoming his vampire "child"; and best of all, the joy of siring Beth and finally finding peace with her and through her. How lovely that Mick can share his happiness with his dad at last.
