Moonlight Locations: Click

Update 5/1/2011: Added info and pictures for the car chase through Beverly Hills.

Update 4/17/2012: Added info and pictures for Tierney's stateroom on the Queen Mary.

I will only be listing locations we haven’t seen before.

1. Beverly Hills, CA

Image

Starting at 00:56, Tierney's car comes racing north on N. Cãnon Drive, coming from Carmelita Avenue toward Elevado Avenue:

Image
(This shot is taken from the corner of N. Cãnon and Elevado, looking south on N. Cãnon.)

At 01:05, Tierney takes a hard right, from N. Cãnon onto Elevado Avenue and heads east. In spite of what Mick says, Elevado is not a one-way street...

Image

Image
(This shot is taken from the corner of N. Cãnon and Elevado, just around the corner from the last shot, looking west on Elevado Avenue.)

At 01:21, the car is again seen traveling north on N. Cãnon Drive, this time between Elevado Avenue and the Crossroads at Lomitas Avenue and N. Beverly Drive (the next intersection north of Elevado).

Image

Image

At 1:30 -- just after "I can't die, I can't die..." -- the car turns right off Elevado Avenue onto the service road that runs behind the houses between N. Cãnon Drive and N. Crescent Drive:

At 02:09, the cars turns right (north) onto N. Rodeo Drive from Carmelita Avenue:

Image

Image

N. Rodeo Drive is divided by a center median into northbound and southbound lanes. When Tierney makes "that J- turn," she actually ends up going south in the northbound lanes.

One other point of interest... the ornate dome that flashes at 06:32 is the top of Beverly Hills City Hall, located at 455 N. Rexford Drive, right off Santa Monica Boulevard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Highs ... tyhall.jpg

3. Queen Mary – The Queen Mary, 1126 Queens’s Highway, Long Beach, CA 90802 Website: http://www.queenmary.com

Mick and Beth were standing under lifeboat 14 before Mick got distracted…

When Mick jumped over the railing, creative editing made it appear that he jumped directly into the water…

Image

Image

However, he actually jumped from the upper level of the ship to the deck below – a distance of about 12’ from the top of the railing to the deck.

Tierney's Suite:

The adjoining suites used for Tierney Taylor's stateroom were M108 (Queen Elizabeth) and M110:

This is the view from where Beth entered toward the adjoining suite. The partition is closed here, but would have been open when they filmed.

When Mick made his getaway, he moved toward his left and appeared to round that corner and head up a ladder. The ladder they used, however, was the one directly across the ambulance bay. It can be seen behind the paparazzi in the photo above.

5. Rooftop – ?, Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, CA

This scene was shot using a green screen. It’s interesting to note, though, that the dark brick building on the left side of the background is the Rosslyn Hotel.

Image

The rooftop area itself I believe was created on a sound stage.

The building at the far left end of the street is the one used for the entrance to Mick's building.

9. Building where Beth met Ben – ?, Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, CA

(Most likely one of the administrative buildings)

10. Ryan Gold’s office – ?, Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, CA

11. Rotunda (phone call shot) – Warner Bros. Theater, Ashley Boulevard, Warner Bros. Studios backlot, Burbank, CA

Arguably the best camera shot of the entire series, the phone call scene from “Click” was filmed in an unlikely place – the entrance to the WB movie theater on the corner of Ashley Boulevard.

Image

Image

This one just hit me one day when I was looking at screencaps. It was the first time I noticed the lights underneath the overhang just outside.

12. Arbor Bistro - French Street, Warner Bros. Studios backlot, Burbank, CA

Image

Of note: this location was used in Casablanca as the place where Rick met Ilsa for the first time. According to the Studio, it is the last standing set from Casablanca.

Dean Foster’s vantage point (near the gates at the corner of NY Park)…

Thank you so much for sharing your impressive detective skills. :hearts:
It makes me bow to the crew in amazement how they used the tiniest of spaces and made it into something different by using angles and green screen. Movie magic... :flowers:

I think I've learned more about movie-making from these threads, than in years of reading about film.

They never tell you this stuff!

Oh, my gosh, Lilly--I never would've noticed in a million years that the building behind crouching Mick is the Rosslyn Hotel! And I'm awestruck by your amazing realization that the rotunda shot (I agree, the BEST!) is in the WB movie theater. You are freakin' brilliant, woman. :notworthy:

And, YOU -- are very good for my ego. :smooch: :snicker:

Actually, I just noticed that yesterday when I was making the screencap. Then I had to check Bing maps to see if the other buildings lined up correctly or if the art department just slapped a bunch of building together for effect. It really is what the skyline would look like from across the street from the Rosslyn. Everything is very compressed, though, like it would be if shot through a long lens -- but it's accurate.

That is coooool.

One other thing I noticed--they used a TON of the wonderful, lacy wooden screening in the windows of "Mick's building" in the hit-and-run scene. I wish I knew where they got that stuff... I'd love to make my own (free-standing) screen out of it for my house. I've looked all over for it, but haven't had any luck, unfortunately.

*jumping*

You found the rotunda!!! I agree this is one of the BEST shots - the angle, the camera movement - and Mick. :cloud9: :cloud9:

Awesome.

Well slowly but surely I'm putting online the pictures that I took in LA last month. I'm putting together a "tour" just like last year, but I have more pictures this time, so it is going to be (and take me) longer. So I thought I put links to the relevant "pages" of the tour under each relevant thread, this time... come to think of it I should catch up and do that for those I took last year too... :chin: Anywhere, here goes for now:

my pictures of the "Lusitania".

Enjoy! :hearts:

I'm glad you like it! :hearts: Yes, it is gorgeous! It is almost sad to see it retired like this, but then again, how convenient for us :teeth: And I promise to do my best to keep the snarkiness going lol! :curtesy:

Ooh, I just got a wonderful tidbit of information from MyImmortal, who is visiting me on her way home from Hawaii...

The rooftop set on which Mick crouches and then meets the paparazzi vamps is the set that was used for the roof of the Pie Hole in the show Pushing Daisies.
