Lilly, it's amazing you found the Teen's apartment. THey must have added the address sign (which makes sense) But they added the balcony, too? Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for that little scene. How did you find it? On first glance it doesn't seem like the place but in relation to the other buildings, sure nuf it is. Great job. Did you look close to Linda Vista, and that's how you found it?

I found a few scene locations recently for other episodes. Should I pm them to you or wait until you post the episode? I'll admit once you get a scene location in your brain it's hard to let it go. Google Earth is wonderful but LA is a big place!

They did fabricate a sign for the front yard as well as a number sign for above the door. The balcony is there on the actual building, though. You can see it better in this picture:

helloeeze, if you'd like to PM me that's fine. I'll be sure to give you credit for anything I didn't already have. If you have pictures, then maybe you could wait until I get the right episode up and post them then. OK? Thanks for pitching in.

A little bit of information on the filming of the roller coaster scene, courtesy of MyImmortal:

When she and I visited the Santa Monica Pier about a year and a half ago, she got talking with the guy who ran the Ferris Wheel. He told her that when they were filming the roller coaster fight, they brought in a fake piece of yellow roller coaster track and set it up near the real roller coaster, so it was above the ground but not WAAAAY above the ground. So the scenes of Mick and TeenVamp running on the track were done less dangerously than it looks onscreen. :phew:

Murdered escort's apartment -- screencap from the show:
Image

The big clue was noticing the Eastern Columbia Building (green building on the left) in the wide shot:
Image

Google Maps to the rescue!
1: Murdered escort's apt (801 S. Grand Ave)
2: Eastern Columbia Building
3: Pershing Square is just a couple blocks away!

Google Street View shot of the building:

It really IS a super swanky residential apartment building in real life! :snicker:

However, sadly the interior scenes on Moonlight were filmed at some other less swanky building.

Although there are similar style buildings on Los Feliz Blvd., this street address does not exist. The actual filming location was a building on S. St. Louis Street right next door to the Linda Vista Hospital location used for the morgue.
It's apparently part of the hospital. This website has a picture tour of the hospital. About halfway down, it talks about shows that filmed there and mentions Moonlight:

Linda Vista’s former asylum building was also used in that episode, as the supposed-Los-Feliz apartment building where Mick and Beth tried to catch Jane Doe’s killer.
However, when I visited the location with a friend from LA, she told me that the building was a dormitory where the nuns that worked at the hospital lived.

Maybe it was a dormitory at one point in the early days when nuns worked at the hospital, and it became an asylum later after the nuns vacated?

ETA: You'll never guess what Linda Vista Hospital is now! Apartments for low-income seniors! :gasp:

The nurses dormitory will be converted to 23 affordable apartments for seniors
http://www.amcalhousing.com/communities ... r-phase-2/
The main hospital building will be converted to 97 affordable apartments for seniors.... Amenities include a community room with computer lab and patios with shaded seating and barbecue area.

That is so cool! I'd love to see that lol.

And I would never have recognized the Escort's building from the street! It looks so different from the aerial photograph. That also explains why I could not recognize it driving down Wilshire corridor doesn't it?! :rolling:
