Great researching, Allegrita. That building suited Mick's style perfectly, it was so gothic looking and Art Deco at the same time. It's a classic!

This is so cool! Thank you for all the tweaking around, even if it does not answer everything. I've often wondered about that too, and where exactly towards the top of the building is the appartment supposed to be located. Also... how do they get onto the roof?

You, too, can own a teeny-tiny version of Mick's building. In multiple finishes, yet! :teeth:

But how cool is that?

How on earth did you run across this, Alle?

Isn't it adorable? I confess I didn't find it myself. MyImmortal showed me the link last night.

But I found this today... and it's really cool! It's the Recommendation Report presented to the LA City Planning Dept. for the remodel of the Title Guarantee Building. It has lots of historical information on the building, and tons of cool photos toward the end.

thanks for putting this up, Alle. I just went through the website showing the interior layouts. even though the ones we see are only the one bedroom apartments, they look huge. I must say, I prefer the way Mick had his though.

Oh, me too--definitely! But isn't it fun to see the interior of the building? And I hadn't ever paid attention before to the other side, with the window-lined airshaft... I wonder if those windows ever get sun?

And it does have a parking garage under it--I thought it must! :teeth:

Thank you for the link to this interesting document about the building!
Seems like Mick, who of course owns the building, has been doing some remodelling. He installed a second parking garage, and a pool on the rooftop. I guess Beth moving in had something to do with that?
I love that they kept the doors, the windows, the terra cotta and the cast iron. And still they were able to comply to fire and earthquake prevention rules and install a pool on the rooftop.
