There's just something about seeing his perpetual cool crumble like it does around her... just so intense!

And she always acted so cool, I mean Shannyn here... she played the part as if SHE had the perpetual cool. So his unnerving and unraveling next to that is just powerfully emotionally... in a voyeuristic kinda way...

Seeing a strong man fall apart over a woman is ... uh, endearing, for want of a better word. Who doesn't wanna have that effect on the man they love? (Even though it's probably more fun to watch than to live through...)

And knowing that he does it time and time again... and that HE KNOWS he does it... but still can't control it...

She is one perpetually cool chick... tho she eventually does lose him... even then, her last act is to sacrifice for him, and to do so with both glamor and class and calm, so yeah, perpetually cool kinda covers it for her...

She is one cool chick! She did lose him there it seems but that had happened before many times, and he always found his way back! Couldn't stay away. *sigh* One thing they never lost was the passion...that was still there, as was the caring and mutual understanding and dare I say...love? She clearly loved him to willingly go with the one-eyed bro to spare him and he had just risked his life to defend her while playing human. As far as Mick still loving her, I think Alex tried to play it that way because that's how he saw it (as evidenced by his comments in at least two interviews I can think of offhand). I think he wanted to keep layers of gray as that's more interesting. Obviously, he was wanting to look to a future with Beth but their future as a couple seemed shaky imo. I think he and Beth would always be in each others lives and love each other, but their foundation as a couple wasn't off to a great start. There were the obvious human/vamp issues and all that brings, her jealousy and impatience, his relationship issues, indulging in freshies again just as they start dating etc., and then the issue of procreation down the line or lack thereof. Anyway, $.02...
