Fabulous finale. It's rare (and wonderful) to have a conclusion that I really did not see coming AT ALL.

And, best of all, the concluding caption:

Returns 2011

Yea!! Based on your reviews, I just purchased the first season of this series and can't wait to get into it!

Just one note of caution, dsr. Episode one of series one has one extraordinarily gruesome moment - truly horrific (and memorably so, even after all this time. It still makes me shudder at the mere thought). So, um, just be prepared, 'k? Although it might not have made it uncut onto the DVD, I guess.

ETA: I checked, and it's actually episode TWO. Sorry.

Thanks for the warning, red....I'm not the bravest of souls and graphic violence is something I try to avoid. Thankfully, there's fast forward on the remote.

And Dark, DO let us know how you enjoy it...
We've already got Red's recommendation... I think she was rather clear.

ITA with you. Loved Lucas interacting with Beth.
Spoiler:
I will miss the character Lucas. Richard Armitage is a brilliant actor. I do wish him all the best and I'll be watching out for the magic he'll be bringing to his new characters. He has a couple of great projects coming in the future. He's one of my favorite actors. He truly brought magic to Spooks.
Looking forward to the new series. Thanks for everything Redwinter.

news, honey, I'm going to stick that in spoilers as lots of people won't have seen this yet - and this is a general thread.

My apology Redwinter...wasn't even thinking about that when I posted. Thanks for correcting my post. ;)

Apparently the Chinese are not too happy about their portrayal on Spooks:

Oops!

And bonus points to the writer for magnificent use of "dunderheads". :clapping:

The article refers to major plotlines in this series - so there are spoilers, but very few specifics.

Absolutely agree. Thanks for the link Redwinter. I think the Chinese will get past this. I'm sure they will.

Recently, I've been watching the first couple seasons just so I'd be prepared for when I could see Sophia's part. I gotta say I'm totally hooked. It's so tense and fast moving!

I just watched Season 2 Episode 5 which starts off as an exercise in emergency preparedness for a bomb going off in Parliament Square. Stunningly good episode!

I also couldn't believe the cliff hanger at the end of Season 1. I had to jump into Season 2 as soon as possible.

Hmmm... that seems to be going around! :teeth: Hubby and I have been watching Season One. Thanks to Red, by the way, for the warning about Episode 2. Boy...that one was pretty awful. :gasp: But I agree, the series is really gripping. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the episodes that we can get on Netflix...

Just read an unverified tweet that PBS is attempting to get the rights to show season 9 in the States when available and that the DVD will be available on 2/28 (not sure if that's UK or US). I will attempt to get some real references.

ETA:
The 2/28 date must be UK if anything. Season 8 just came out here on 1/25. I can't find a news story that says what PBS might be doing.

Actual tweet reads

@PBS working on acquiring #MI5 / #Spooks season 9 when available. DVD out 2/28. On iTunes now! #SophiaMyles
