Re: New job for Sophia - Spooks/MI-5
OH! This is exciting.
I confess I lost interest in Spooks after the first couple of series but I do love Richard Armitage and I'm a huge Iain Glen and Sophia fan so I'll definitely be checking this out again. I'm beyond excited that Sophia is going to be on TV again.

Richard looks a lot younger in that pic with the short hair! Nice.
Off topic, but I LOVE seeing all the various vamps in the banner up there, especially Lance. We didn't get enough of him. Heh.

It is interesting that several articles have referred to Sophia as being from Doctor Who when she did only one episode.
I did see the Doctor Who episode before Moonlighting and thought it was a fabulous episode. David and she really did have chemistry.
But you'd think she'd be referenced by her movies - unless her movies weren't that big in the UK?

Thunderbirds got quite a lot of publicity here, Outlander and Tristan and Isolde didn't really make a splash. Hallam Foe did well on the indie circuit and got some good notices but didn't really do much in terms of box office. But you have to understand how huge Doctor Who is here - it is a phenomenon (and The Girl in the Fireplace was a much-discussed episode) so I'm not really surprised that it's the reference point for the UK articles. As for Moonlight, it really isn't well known here at all as it never aired on network TV.r1015bill wrote:It is interesting that several articles have referred to Sophia as being from Doctor Who when she did only one episode.

Dr. Who is big over here as well, just not as big as it is in the UK....one of my co-workers and I frequently discuss the various writers and the various actors who have played the Doctor...while we don't agree on everything, we do agree that 'The Girl in the Fireplace' was an amazing episode....I still get chills as Sophia's character, Madame de Pompadour, leaves the palace for the last time...so incredibly sad.

Here's an article from TV Choice magazine (a UK publication). I had no idea THAT was Sophia's character's name... This is gonna be weird.

Well I didn't see a last name if her new character is Beth T...... that would really be weird.
