The Ten Most Important Things I Learned from Josef

In lieu of a list of New Year’s resolutions, which I would already have broken by now, I decided to dig out a different sort of list I made almost a year ago. I’ve referred to it from time to time, and while these may not all be the best rules to live by, some of them do have merit. ;)

Ten things I learned from Josef Kostan:

-- Revel in what you are

-- Paranoia is a gift – use it wisely.

-- When it comes to friends, quality is more important than quantity

-- Don’t bore your friends with the details - never tell the whole story when half will suffice

-- Luck – is for the inexperienced

-- Sometimes it’s OK to order in

-- Perspective is overrated

-- So is moderation

-- Having a friend with a conscience is less inconvenient than having one yourself

-- Never let it be assumed that your bark is worse than your bite.

Lilly, this is hilarious in the way that so much of what you write is hilarious... there is always at least a grain of truth, it is snarky but clever and erudite, I can actually imagine the (whichever) character saying the words you give him, and no vampires were harmed or killed in the writing of this list.

You are such a treasure. Please keep writing and PLEASE keep sharing what you write!

I printed this off, framed it, and hug it over my computer.
Each time I write down Josef's words I laugh because you now have given me a quickie hot sheet. Rule 3. Rule 6. Rule 1.

Lucky, I swear, it is an involuntary reflex. The word play appears and I just can't help myself.

They were all great, but that one in particular is excellent.

I love this list I printed it out and put it on my corkboard in my room so that way when I feel upset I can look at it and have a good laugh. I love it, it is what we all have learned from him. Or at least I have.
