I wish they'd dialled down the ick factor just a little, focused more on Michael and Deidre's relationship and, frankly, got a better actor as Phil (sorry, but I thought he was poor).

I'd file this under fascinating failure. But Alex rocked.

Oh. Hell. Yes.

THIS is why I'll be an Alex fan for life - because he's simply a brilliant actor. He's beautiful, yes...but damn, he's SUCH a talented actor.
He does dark and twisted exceptionally well.

Oh Phil totally sucked... does he even act anymore?

And once again shallow, but the boys they found to play Michael young were SO beautiful--and perfectly like young Alexes!! I was amazed.

Strangely, Phil was Jack Thompson's son, Patrick. Looking at his imdb, he hasn't done much lately.

Edited to fix quotes.

He did suck. Doesn't look like he's done all that much acting. Started as a child - you'd think he'd be better. I didn't care for the woman who plays Michael's wife either. But Alex and Gabby Millgate (Deirdra) were very good.

ITA - I saw a few things I'd missed the first time around :ghug: - also got a better appreciation for the depth of Alex's characterization of Michael, a truly deranged and depraved beastie

Patrick Thompson might not be able to act but according to IMDB, it was Alex and Patrick that came up with the plot.

I thought I'd add this reference for those who like trivia about movies. Some of it was mentioned as we were going through.

http://alexoloughlinrocks.com/career/film/feed-2

It talks about a lot of deleted scenes. I'm pretty sure some of them are out on youtube.
