My guess is that any given team would only participate in a handful of events, and even then not all of the members would be involved in each one. I do see that there's an event in Hawaii listed for 2013, but the details aren't available yet.
Oh that's an interesting thought. I just assumed that all the team members run/do all the obstacles on the course, and they combine times for the score or similar. But I suppose it's possible that they divide up the obstacles among the team members, playing to their strengths. One might be better at climbing and another at the mud pit. Guess we'll have to see.

So how do you suppose one trains for these obstacles? Are there places to practice walking across a narrow beam over a pit of water?

Actually, MLC, I meant that everyone on the team might not go to the Dallas event or the Michigan event, for example. I kind of assume that all do the course together. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Okay, watched the vid. I'd swear I could see Alex in amongst those competing, every few seconds. This strikes me as exactly his cuppa. (Although in this case, it may be his beer, rather than tea...)

Good for Alex. That man certainly knows how to challenge his body.

Here's to more Fitness/sports mags covering these events and him.

Muddy, sweaty, panting Alex?

And IMO that is what makes Alex so good at what he does. He literally gets into the skin of every character he takes on. He finds ways of not only finding what makes that character tic but somehow incorporates a bit of himself into that character and creates them from the inside out lifting them off the page. :notworthy:

This was on the Tough Mudder facebook page today.
It is a sad day for the Stray Dogs. Both Kevin McKidd and Alex O'Loughlin will have to miss the Nor Cal race due to scheduling conflicts. Their camaraderie will be missed on the course.
