:cheer: veema Thanks for posting. It's never easy posting the first time and you were the first one to answer the challenge

Hopefully some others will dive in. The water's fine here at MLA

Ok, deep breath, let me be the 2nd lurker to test the waters. I've been here since the beginning, followed from the 'other' site(s). It's not that I didn't want to participate. In the beginning there were just so much stuff to read that I didn't have time to answer. Later it felt silly to just jump in, like the new kid in the class, and then it just got to the point of " who cares about my opinion at this point anyway?" When this challenge was started I darted back behind the bushes and thought that I'll check it out first but I think it's time now to come out. Also, English is not my first language and I think that's makes me a little insecure as well.

Now that I'm out in the open, I just want too thank all the writers for their wonderfull stories. You have kept the Moonlight alive for me all this time. This is the first time I've ever felt like this about a tv program and I'm still heart broken that it was cancelled.

So let me try this smiley thing. I'm computer challenged as well - I think you now have all the excuses I can think off...

:hearts: Hi Protea!!

It's wonderful to hear from you! I never would have guessed that English wasn't your first language. I've seen you here, reading and browsing -- I'm so happy to hear that you've been enjoying yourself. :flowers:

Good for you Veema and Protea. I know how hard it is to emerge from being a lurker to actually posting something. I used to think the same thing that people didn't want my opinion. I even had a story I wasn't going to post until my husband finally convinced me to at least try.

Congratulations, veema and protea! You're brave. I know how hard it is to make that first little "peep" of a post. And I don't want to be pushy, but I'd love to hear what you have to say, if you feel like talking. :ghug:

Nice to "hear your voice" protea! :cheer:

Your English is great. I'd never have thought it wasn't your first language - very conversational.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, although I shouldn't have expected anything less. You are a great group of ladies over here and have always been nice to any newcomers that dared to venture here.
Thank you as well for the nice comments about my English. I've been here in the USA for 14 years, so my English isn't bad, it's just that sometimes it's harder to put your thoughts down when you have to translate them first. You have to make sure it comes out the way you intended it too. The lingo is different sometimes too, and I'm sure people from places like England and Australia can agree with me on that. Then you spend so much time making sure the grammar is ok and you're saying what you intended to say, that you end up making silly spelling mistakes, which really annoys me. In all, it just takes longer to say something, but I'm going to try and speak up more and show my appreciation to all the great writers.

See, now this took me 20 minutes to put together (just kidding, it only took 15 min). :giggle:

:cheer: Yay for Veema and Protea. And dear ones, practice makes better and easier. We are so in awe of people who read and post in a language not their first!

Any of the writers would be more than delighted to see comments from you....as the old fanfic writers' saying goes, "Comments feed the muse." They needn't be long, even a simple, "I enjoyed this" is sufficient.

I do hope this will encourage some of our other loyal lurkers--you know who you are!--to take a chance and join the conversation.

:giggle: Yeah, well, I'm not a typist either, and although English is not only my first but my ONLY language, I still screw up a post or two.

Delighted to meet you, protea  ... I hope you know we DO want to hear your thoughts, anytime you feel willing to share. That's what makes the board fun and interesting... many different thoughts and ideas. And if you love ML, well, then you must be brilliant.
