GA - good to see you! And thanks for you kind words. :rose: I agree this probably wouldn't have worked for first-graders, but it can be fun to compare. Image

This is a classic, and a clever one at that. I always chuckle at 'goodnight shower'

Thank you, dear Lilly for bringing a Moonlight smile to my face.

I'm popping in on your birthday to read my favorite of your Moonlight Bedtime Stories. I can't tell you how many times I've read Goodnight Moon over the years. You have combined two of my favorite things... this wonderful book, with all its cozy and happy associations, and my very favorite television universe, the place I've spent nearly the past five years happily enjoying my own and others' creativity... and I wanted to thank you for this, among the many other gifts you've given me. :hearts: :reading:  :rose:

And, of course, I had to save my favorite for last. :cloud9: Long after my son stopped wanting me to read Goodnight Moon to him, I kept reading it occasionally, just for myself. I loved searching through the pictures to find the mouse, and seeing what the bunny got up to as he was getting sleepy. (Okay, I'll admit it--I still own the book, and I still get it out from time to time!) This lovely picture-story combines my happy memories of reading a favorite book (one of the only ones that I never tired of!) to my little boy, with my happy memories of that amazing rush of love and joy that we all felt for our favorite show, especially in those early days. It is a little bit bittersweet, because of the way things turned out... but mostly, it's just happy and funny and sweet. And, on top of that, it really captures the cadence and feel of the original story, while giving us the Moonlight world to say goodnight to. Margaret Wise Brown would be proud!

So...
Goodnight cool chairs and LA night airs,
Goodnight "A" and goodnight "Hey"...
Goodnight handsome vamps, I'm turning off my lamps (and going to bed, because it's nearly 2am!)

Thank you, dear Lilly, for this lovely trip through your bedtime stories. They are a treasure. :smooch:

I DO remember reading this one before, and I still enjoy it. The shower and the lady who came by to say "hey." Maybe due to the amount of time that has passed, but I don't think of it as sad. It's a tribute to some of our favorite things about Moonlight. And it makes me smile.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with us all these years, Lilly! :flowers:

:thanks:

I had to save my favorite for last... this makes me so nostalgic and gives me a sense of peace and contentment. It's wonderful to revisit that beautiful apartment, with its stylish furniture and that amazing blue-light shower and the flickering ice fireplace... and the handsome vamps (with their lamps) and the tumbler of "A", not to mention the lovely lady who dropped by to say "Hey." :hearts:

Goodnight, dearest Lilly, and thank you for your darling bedtime stories... especially this one. :rose:

Wow! Thank you so much, Alle, for bumping all of these and for your sweet comments. :hearts: :rose:

It was a bit surreal reading through this again after such a long time. But, as you said, those feelings always come back.

Excellent. Lovely. Pitch perfect.

Some of the best parts of Moonlight, cleverly done.

The vamps, the A, and lady who came by to say "hey."

Kudos, to you, Lilly! And Thank you! :flowers:

And thanks, Alle, for bumping it!
