She LOVED Feed! Thought the concept was brilliant and loved the boys who made it, including Alex. And of course fell for Alex too.

She states that the reason she recaps 5-0 is to draw attention to herself and get to work with the boys she calls the Aussie Brat Pack, Alex and Patrick and that other guy whose name I never remember....

I love Sardonic's recaps - especially her " HELLO (Insert character name according to her mythology)! I MISS YOU! CALL ME!!"

I haven't read much of the ML threads but I will now have to.

OK I just had to comment. Don't you just love it when they "Get IT" Alex is a very talented actor with the uncanny ability to become his characters not just be a different version of himself from show to show. :hearts:

OK so 1985 Mick vs 2007 Mick. I didn’t notice a difference.

My first real impression of 1985 Mick, he’s holding the hurricane lamp, all you can see is his face, not his hair, and I was all like “HOLY :beep: ! It’s Steve McGarrett! What’s he doing here?” But then a second later you can see the rest of him and it’s… not Steve McG.

I tweeted *** that even in just this first episode (and here we digress about our love for AOL’s acting skillzzzz) this guy I’m watching isn’t Steve McGarrett with a bad haircut this is MICK. And I’ve watched shows & movies before where the actor just plays a different version of himself and, whatever, it might be entertaining, but THIS is not THAT.
I watched 43 minutes of Mick and for 0.5 seconds was reminded of Steve McGarrett. And that’s it. And I was *trying* to be reminded of McG, find similarities. And I didn’t – not once – by any of his mannerisms or voice inflection or anything. Props to AOL for being such a fine actor, really. No wonder CBS stuck with him through 3 shows, they knew what a talent they had.
Mods I hope it's OK that I copyed and pasted her quote from that site, but I don't relly have a way to ask her directly for permition. :fingerscrossed:

ETA: to remove name and handle of the poster.

Okay...what does FOY stand for? I know WHAT they are talking about, but can't figure out the words the initials stand for. I assume it's rated XXX. I'm amused that they find fault with Mick's body, his nose, his hair, (love his hair myself) his moobs...but the thing I don't understand is how Sardonic thinks he has a lisp and can't pronounce Josef. I always thought Mick was saying it that way on purpose, and I loved the way he pronounced it. When did Alex obtain a lisp? Uh...what? I just love the sarcasm though. These women don't care what they say about Alex, good or bad, doesn't matter. And no one "corrects" anyone who dares to make fun of him, his nose, his "thinning" hair...etc. My sick sense of humor would fit right in. :rolling: And that member named Maureen....I wonder if she's the Maureen I know from SOTB. Doesn't seem like the same one but who knows. :chin: :snicker: :Mickangel: Still haven't gotten to the ML threads.

No rush, honey... those threads will be there waiting for you...

And FOY, in Sardonic speak, stands for Fountain of Youth. Yeah, they go there...

Thanks for asking Karen and thanks for answering Grace
Thank God Fountain of Youth is "their" definition no mater how suggestively used. :phew: I don't even what to say what the Urban Dictionary defined it as....Ewwwww. :eek2: So wrong..so so wrong.

I've only read abit of the comments and can't wait to read more. But it brings up an interesting thought to me - if I'd only known Steve McGarrett and then went looking for Alex's other stuff, like these girls did, would Mick and ML still have had the same effect on me??? I don't really know the answer. :chin: I do know that I find Alex way more physically appealing now then back then, but if I had both Steve and Mick standing in front of me asking me to ride off into the sunset I'd choose Mick in an instant - no room for doubts. It was Mick - his soul & personality that I fell in love with - how he looked was just a bonus.

That is, IMO, the biggest part of what makes reading thru the Sardonic ML threads so interesting...
Their reactions to Alex and to Mick evolve and it's humorous, yes. But also fascinating and, frankly, gratifying in the end. :happysigh:

So it's a delightful cruise thru the threads. They are long, so you gotta take your time. And no hurry, cuz they aren't going anywhere...

And I gotta give props to these women for keeping an open mind in the way many ML fans have not...

Yet they end up sharing MUCH in common with us...
My favorite quote from the final thread?
F U CBS! :coffee:

I may just have to read those threads now.

Have they discovered Criminal Minds yet? Vincent is my second favorite AOL role. I had chills through that whole episode because of how (my opinion) great Alex's performance was. I know you've all explained it, but the fact that that performance wasn't nominated for an Emmy invalidates the Emmys for me.

I hear ya on the Emmy thang... :snob:

Yes, there is a CM thread there too, 2 Oyster Farmer threads, a BUP thread, and a fairly new 3R thread... also one for his tampon commercial. I haven't read them all, but I plan to.

Many of the ladies are new to Alex, but they are making up for lost time.

I have to laugh Grace. Apparently I belong to this site you mentioned and forgot. :blushing: When you mentioned 3 Rivers I went there to see if anyone knew it came out on dvd last week. Anyway I put my email in to register and plumblossom101010 existed. I can't think of another site my handle is plumblossom. So I posted about the dvd.
