Well, it's nice to know there really is some interest on their part. On the one hand, I think whoever holds the rights might be interested in getting a little more $$ out of the property, but on the other, if they price it higher, maybe it means there's some interest on their parts in doing...something else with it.

Just idle speculation.

I think it's really nice of them to answer...Even if they decide not to do it, still it is nice they bother to answer back ...After so so many emails , letters, sent since the cancelation to sooo many places , well , it just feels good that someone at least read the mail and took time to answer  .
Thanks for posting the reply.
Although I am afraid the price for ML probably to be high. :sigh:

Who exactly would they pay? Trevor or Warner Brothers? Not Joel Silver, right? :gasp:

If I understand it correctly, it comes back to being able to establish who owns the rights. It may be a combination....

Round these parts, they call that a dog in the manger. I just hope that any slim chance of this happening isn't stymied by the finances.

Hmmm... as perhaps happened with the actual show... and there's always been too many fingers in this particular pie...

But how cool to have at least this possibility... maybe at some point, some of these genii will discern that they had a good property here and will further discern a way to actually make money, as well as art, from it...

It is interesting, but... I would rather have ML on a lower-budget tv network than only sound (plus my own imagination :snicker: )... But as Alex said ML had to remain the same show, even if on a different network, and it was pricey - maybe that is why no one picked it up after CBS? Owners of the show didn't want to economize on the production process, networks couldn't effort the price?! Who knows...

Question - How would they represent Mick's VOs in such audio dramas to stand them out of his dialogues, for example? :chin: I'm having a hard time imagining how it all could be made...

Well, it would be different, that's for sure...but then again, think about this. Close your eyes and listen to Mick's VOs and his regular dialogue. There's a huge difference in his voice, his diction, everything. That would probably be one of the easier things for them to duplicate. Mick's (and Josef's) wonderfully expressive faces, much harder without pictures.

Basically it is fanfic, just with the actual voices of the charries. As to the V.O it would no different then in the show really except they may only put the V.O in a ceratin part of each eppy. I like this idea, in fact something quiet simliar was suggested to Jason at BBM. What can an email hurt? Not me. If they say no...what esle is new?

I'd disagree that it's fanfic - these are professional productions, professionally written, cast and produced.

We should be so fortunate as to have stories as good as some of the fic, if this happens...come to think of it, I know where they could find some writers...

Gives ya hope. I just wonder if they'll be willing to give Big Finish permission to do this. I mean, they won't give Trevor the rights to publish his novels (yet), even though its his creation.

I've lost the bubble here...who exactly owns the rights to Moonlight? CBS, SyFy, Joel Silver, somebody else?
