“Coraline there are vampires who have been in his dungeon for a century. The fact that you were turned by him won’t help you. Your betrayal cannot be overlooked.

“For the wavy haired musical moron???? Did you forget the years it took you to heal? Did you forget who kept it a secret from the Duvalls? After what that animal did to you he deserves death, a vampire death not a human one.

“Was I given a choice Coraline? Were you? Lance? Any vampire?

“It was die or be turned. Mick didn’t know those were the only choices.”

“So because you didn’t threaten to torture and kill him I should have a pity party. I hate him more and more.

Cynthia, I need help. You’ve always been more clever.

“I’m smarter Coraline. No one on the planet is more clever than you.

“Fine. I need your brain.

“Then will you help me escape from France. I’ll need a quick exit.”

“That I will do but I can’t help with the “Cure.”

“Can’t or won’t?

“It’s the same thing.

“No it’s not Cynthia. Who took care of you when Lawrence beat you with a silver whip? Who killed every man that ever crossed you?

“Can I return the favor? Can I kill Mick St. John?

“Yes. You can help me invent the cure and he’ll kill himself with old age.

“That’s not what I mean.

“That’s what I’ll offer Cynthia. If he chooses to live as a human I won’t re-turn him. You can go to his funeral.

“Do you swear Cora?

“If he chooses the wrong way, I’ll give him up. I swear it.

“Swear on what? Your word? God?

“On my own immortality Cynthia. But if he chooses immortality I always have the chance to get him back and you must respect that.”

“Fine. He’s too stupid for that.

I love the conversation, and the "deal" that Coraline makes with Cynthia. I also love your portrayal of Coraline here. Though she toyed with Mick as Morgan, I honestly think her endgame was to give him the choice she'd stolen - whether to be human or to be a vampire - and you convey that so well here.

Ooh, I LOVE this. I totally see this conversation happening. Poor Cynthia, she's smart but she's not clever at all. Coraline has only one goal, and she'll do anything, manipulate anyone, to achieve it. What's fascinating to me is that I see her motives as pretty pure... it's the means she uses that are corrupt.

This is a great look into Coraline, and into Cynthia. Coraline really wants to give Mick a choice and she hopes he will take immortality on the second offer and she fears he might want to stay human. Cynthia seems to know him well, she suspects he will stay human and die. That's the carrot that Coraline dangles in front of her.
Cynthia is so insanely jealous of Mick, and with good cause. Coraline is the eternal manipulator.

Great interplay between the two Cs (Cynthia and Coraline). The first can't stand Mick and the other can't forget him. If given the chance, I'd bet Cynthia would take Mick out in a heartbeat (and I don't mean a date).
