I was just thinking about this story, how Ray is really the ultimate missing person here. No one even knows he is missing. And it got me wondering if Ray is the reason why Mick got into the PI business, and why his particular interest....passion, even....is finding people who have gone missing. :chin:

This is such a vivid story. Ray held on hard to life and while Mick lost a whole different path when Ray came home it's obvious that Ray had a strong will to live.

Thank you so much, Shadow and Carol. :ghug: This is one of the stories I'm proudest to have written, because the stories of injured soldiers should all be told. It makes me happy to have fleshed out Ray's story a little bit. :rose:

What a great story, Alle. It transported me right into that field hospital. You did a good job capturing Ray's suffering. I liked the various personalities of the hospital staff, and their banter. It really felt like what you'd expect to hear in that place and time.

Thanks very much, NM! I'm so happy you felt like I did justice to the time and place. I love Ray so much and I really wanted to do right by his story.

I'm bumping this story in honor of all those who, like Mick and Ray, have served our country in the military. :rose:
